funny- SALTWATERFISH.com selling " sandcrabs "

have u been to there forum? it sux its big but ur so limited of what u can say, there was a discussion about t-5 vs mh and they ended it because people were arguing

Yep, they occur all over the world in all temps of oceans. :D That said, I don't think they will make great sand sifters because they live in the surf zone, but who knows.

I guess they are a deal if they can show there are a warm water species. Anyone near the coast can find a coldwater species very easy. Selling a cold water species to an inland customer would be a poor buisness practice, especially at $9. They would be really cool in a DSB tank though.

ya, these buggers live right in the sand at the water line in inches of water and less. I'm not so sure they wouldn't munch the pod population. I've tried them in a 10G experiment tank and they lasted a couple of weeks. it was likely due to starvation. I don't think my best attempts could match their unending metabolism, they seemed to be always moving.

Those guys get big too, not just their bodies but their claws too. Some of the big ones (4 inches or so) can look downright scary. Most likely not reef safe. Actually, I'm out the door to go surf PM me if you want some.

I got IP banned from there for posting about a thread on reefcentral, and then told them it was stupid that it got locked.... too bad i moved, suckers

gfk, if calling the host "money hungry b1tches" shouldn't get you banned, I don't know what would.

I've found the sand crabs at many different beaches along Cali and Florida, just never thought of dumping them in my tank. ;)
