I have had four fuscus horses for about a month now and they're all probably close to sexually mature. The males have been changing colors a lot and the females sometimes mimic them but may not have paired up yet. Yesterday I found a clump of bright orange eggs laying in a branch of live rock. I wish I had taken a picture because now they seem to be gone. They were definitely about the size of seahorse eggs and the females have definitely had a lot of eggs ready to give. What could this mean? Is it usual for them to just drop off their eggs somewhere if they don't have a mate? Any input appreciated! =)
