Fuzzy Dwarf Pair: Gender Opinion?

We think we have this right, and got a male and female, but I would like some additional opinions:

The presumed female has been in our system for over a month, eating frozen, healthy and fat. 5-6 stripes on her fin.

The presumed male I have watched at the LFS for a month, also eating frozen, healthy and fat. 6-7 stripes on his fin.

Below are the pics of the pair two hours after introductions. There has been no aggression other than some posturing, which even that has been few and far between. The female as been no further than 3 inches from the male since introduction.

So, the question is, are we good or did we get two males, lol?

Hard to tell from the pics but I agree, looks like two females. Judging from the surroundings they look to be about 2.5", is that correct?

It looks like the fins on both fish stop at or just before the caudal peduncle; also making them both, female.

The larger of the two is about 4 inches, and the smaller is about 2. Hmmmm...both female? I suppose I can stay on the lookout for a male yellow fuzzy then, lol.

If you can get a better shot of the side of the fish with it's pectoral fins preferably against it's body, it would be much easier to identify

Both females.

They need to be adults to be certain.

We've been comparing literally hundreds of specimens and photos..... sexing is not as clear cut as it may seem. You really can't look at it as being black and white, for there is a whole mess of gray in there too. All females are not always going to have a small head, short pecs and <6 stripes. You gotta go with your gut a little bit sometimes.

We've watched a lot of juniors grow up. They may be leaning one way as a youth, but come adulthood, they end up swinging the other way.

Confirm it yourself with the diagram below. If the fins do not reach the peduncle area, it's probably female. The area starts at the end of the anal fin.

I went with female on the big one because those fins look awfully short in the picture. If they weren't as short as they look, I would want a few more side on pics to get a look at the size of the head and shape of it's neck... it's doesn't look small in the pics. Where do the fins reach when they are flat against the body?

Thanks all! All is still peaceful this morning, with the FuManchu coming over for a peek at the new arrival as well. He looks rather unimpressed. lol
