FW dip zoas at acclimation?

So the people at a LFS were selling small zoanthid frags for $5.99 plus a free frag. One of the gals there recommended a freshwater dip since they had just gotten many of them in. I've never done that and wanted to get some opinions and/or methods on doing this.

Thanks!

I've had some pretty bad hitch hikers show up on zoas. Might be worth a shot. I had some nudibranches show up on a colony and they were slowly eating each polyp. they were very difficult to see because they only came out at night and they turned the exact color of whatever colony they were eating (they had migrated around the tank at that point). It took me months of waiting up after my lights went out with a flash light and tweezers to finally eradicate the pests.

I always do. About 1 minute in RODI - remotely close in temp to the water in the bag/tank.

This is after a 15m Lugols dip. You have have to rinse the coral anyways, because you will overdose your tank with iodine if you dip a coral and drop it in your DT. So I have a small cup of tank water, to rinse the iodine off the coral before placing into my DT.

A few also practice FW dips on fish prone to disease/pests (wild caught clowns, tangs, etc.)
