The question:
17 assorted Cichlids have ich/ragged fins/not looking great. I treated them with Fungus Eliminator. Tank size 55 Gallons: also in tank is a 15 inch pleco that doesn't have ich. Should I continue with this medication (since I already started with it or switch to something else?
Also, anyone selling a 55gallon tank?
Here is the story on the fish:
A very tired overwhelmed woman comes into where I work and is in tears. She is moving to NH, has been up for 30 hours and looks like she hasn't seen air conditioning the entire time. In her car she has a big Rubbermaid container of fish. Her tank shattered in the move.. She starts to ask if we can take her fish because she doesn't know what to do but can seem to finish her sentences because she loves her fish so much and starts to fill up with tears again...
Since she was talking to me, well.......I have her fish at my house now and will keep them until she finds a tank and gets it set up.
I was impressed that she had a B11 air pump (the one that kicks on when the power goes out). So the fish were doing pretty well during long time they were in the Rubbermaid however they seem to have a big case of ich. There 17 fish - one Oscar, Green Severum, convicts.... There is also a 15 inch plecostomus.
They are eating well, I have 4 air stones with a luft pump, used some of her water, some from the sump at work and then some of mine when setting up the tank.
I couldn't really see them while at work to notice the ich. When I got home I treated with Fungus Eliminator because I had it on hand.
btw...you should of seen the look on Tom's face when I got home last night
