FYI/Heaters

For those of you with any Stealth Heaters by Marineland there is a Recall of all their heaters (Stealth) Brand only. They said to return them to where you bought them for a free replacement heater of the same Wattage you had. Also they said to remove them from use due to safety issues ASAP

I was told by someone else and called the Critter where i bought mine and they said bring it in and replaced it no questions asked!
Maybe Google it and it will show up there?

Glad I trashed the in I got with this new tank. I saw a lot of issues online with them. All I can say is that its way overdue. Saw also some jbj ones catching fire in the tank?

Ebo-Jager i think is made by Ehiem and that is what I have used for years, The big long 300 Watters work fine with no problrms so far anyway.

I did to the one in Smyrna, they pulled all their marineland heaters. Ended up with 300w fluvals.

Petsmart and/or Petco are your best friends in the situation. Trust me, I work at one of them. We've had a few returns. Exchanged no ?'s asked.

Is this recall for the newer style Stealth heaters or all types? I have one in my tank that seems to be working well for over a year. I know within 3 months of me purchasing it they released the ones that had the built in 'light indicator'.

Good to know. I need to take mine back somewhere, too. In this situation, there shouldn't be any questions asked. A recall is a recall, regardless of where its bought.

I also just found out tonight that one of my nice digital timers has been recalled, too. Good thing is that I needed to buy a battery for it, anyway... now I should be able to just get a replacement.

The recall is for the pro series,100,200,250 watts.I carried mine back last week to pet-smart,they didn't ask questions just exchanged it for another heater.

I have a 3 or 4 of em. Had one die in the tank 3 weeks ago..still have it so will get it replaced hehe.
