I was just there and found that they are having a super discount weekend sale this Sat and Sun only all fish corals 25% off.

That's sound real good to me, I know where to mention to my wife to get my fathers day goodies.

Too funny someone posts something about what Aqua hut has in and you come and make this announcement. personally ive never been to either place as there out in the boonies for us Western Folk :) So while were plugging places i would suggest visiting Pets Of New Hyde Park and also Pet Barn in Franklin Square. Fish Town in Flushing is also a decent place with good prices. :)

Well, I guess if people are gonna be plugging fish sales, it's ok to mention that Joe's Deli is having a sale this weekend on Salmon. 1/2 lb free with a half dozen bagels.

I hope no one is questioning my intentions. I merely point out if I see anything good at a store, its 5min away from me and in the past I have stopped in to find stock when others on this board ask for something specific.

Pyro no its not you. No worries like Justin said its other people whose intentions are questionable.

FWIW,
I stopped by Pets Warehouse today after the LIRA meeting and there was "NO" 25% sale going on.

Nice thread reefly

Yes there is, did you ask anyone?

I saw Bob he approved the discount at the register.

You don't know what you're talking about, so you drove there and didn't ask..........how many miles to a gallon does your car get !!

You need to broaden your horizons a bit!

See a few real stores like Country Critters and Petswarehouse.

I may be wrong but Pet barn I heard dropped their salt?
Pets is ok but nothing special.
Fish town's "decent" salt dept can fit in the bathroom at CC. If you add up all the overcrowded tanks, it isn't very much, if you like corals kept under regular flourescent lights, that's the place to go.

Get in a car and do some looking around, you may get an education.

last point Maybe hes special and gets a 25% employee discount

No, just a loyal customer, but I shop and visit many stores.

That's probably the first time I saw the two mentioned in the same sentence. IMO, they have very little in common.

I may be wrong but Pet barn I heard dropped their salt? That's news to me. I haven't been there in a while, but this is the first I heard of them no selling saltwater animals/supplies. I'll have to check into that, as Petbarn always seemed like a pretty good store to me.

Pets is ok but nothing special.
Don't think I've ever been there.

Fishtown's got their problems, and their saltwater selection is smaller than CC's, but so are the prices. CC has a great display, and to the eye is very pleasing. Then, you meet the employees, and see the price tags. That's when the magic goes out the window for me.

Get in a car and some looking around, you may get an education.

Education is never bad, but it goes both ways.

I think I'll leave that alone for now.

Pet Barn still has salt just less of it. The room where the salt was is now a barber shop. Its now towards the back of the store.

For me driving all over the island in the search of fish isnt my thing. I stay local or mail order a majority of my stuff or thru frag trades at LIRA meetings. I even consider fish town too far of a drive LOL
I probably do need to broaden the horizons abit so if i was out in the area i surely would stop by however to take the trek just isnt worth it to me.
Ofcoarse i realize now i forgot to add Fishy Inc to the list. Les is a great guy and has a nice selection of fish and corals.

To have a sale that only applies to people that know to ask is pretty silly marketing IMO. Usually the idea of a sale is to drag people in and hopefully get them to buy more than they would otherwise. That normally calls for a little advertising, at least some signs in the store to trigger a buying frenzy ;)

hey guys and yes there was a discount...you just had to say, im getting a 25% discount on these right? lol

they a good selection of somethings. a real big hammer and torch were there last night.

Yeah,
How about that I asked Bob's wife who was up at the counter and she looked at me like I had two foreheads.

So if the store owner's wife don't know, then I think I can say that:
I know what I am talking about.

To ask the owner personally for a discount is not a sale, buddy................
