G. Smithii Source?

Can anyone point me toward a source for a G. Smithii?

I lost my N. Wennarae a little while ago, (equip failure leading to a top off error) and I'm in process of upgrading his old 2.5 to a 10. An LFS near me keeps small Caribbean species in stock, but I'd like to step up a bit with the new tank.

We do get smithiis from time to time. Sadly we really never know when. We
currently do not keep a waiting list as there are so many who seek the
smithii and it would be difficult for us to go down such a big list to
verify if customers are still interested or not. We list our new arrivals
the day they arrive and we also announce the post date and time of
smithii/ternatensis in our news section. What we do plan on doing is
creating a smithii mailing list along with other species specific mailing
lists. This way we can send out a mass announcement to each person who has
been interested in a particular species type.

Availability is really sketchy. We order mass amounts of what most
exporters call "mix mantis." In these mixes we see a large variety. Our
chances of seeing a smithii is about 10%, terns 10%, chiragra 15%, ciliata
25%, haptosquillids 20%, glab/graph 20%. That I think is a good breakdown
on a percentage level.

Maybe I'll get lucky. If not there's an LFS that's constantly getting N.Wennerae/N.Bredini in on their cultured live rock. Best $10 buy in their salt section.

i think its a G.Smithii theyre selling, i dont remember.
 
They're hardy, colorful, and very active/interactive.

Also their max size is 9cm, just under 4". I wanted something a bit bigger than the little Caribbean guy I used to have, but not as terrify-my-finance big as a peacock. I'm not trying to go over 10 gallons with the new mantis tank I'm planning.
 
Anyway, I'm off the market myself, I picked up a gorgeous N.Wennerae/Bredini last night at the LFS.

They had about 10 recent hitchikers in, and the one I took home was by far the largest and most colorful. My last N.Wenn was of the brick red variety, but this one is the turquiose/purple variety as pictured on Dr. Roy's Stomatopod site.

Looks just like this, and he's bout 2 1/2"

I love my Wennerae!! He is in a 29 gallon tank, it's my frag tank, & I am able to do whatever I want in there & he doesn't care! Not an agressive guy at all! Will only eat frozen mysis on top of it all!

Good luck, in my experience, they are great!!!
 
Well I haven't seen any updates yet, but if/when I do I'll post it, since I'm not looking anymore.
