This is Angela Shorts Tank for those of you familiar with her tank it measures out to be 270 gal and the dimensions are as follows as a built in tank
72" L x 30"H x 24" W With overflows on the ends of the tank for viewing from both sides as a room divider. Tank was around 2400.00 new and is about 4-5 years old, And in good shape. Both sides are Starfire Glass and have Black acrylic overflows on each end. There may be some Live Rock available with the tank along with lighting and Sump (100Gal Rubber maid) Iwaki 100 return pump Japanese motor and a couple of tunze 6100 power heads with controller.
All livestock has been sold and there is some odds and ends if someone wants to take it all for a good deal! Not really sure where to start on price but lets say we will start at 1,500.00 takes all or best offers considered, But no low ball offers please.

FYI, Reason i posted this is Angela has no working computer at this time and she is a good friend! Has been a RC member way before my meager time on here.

I was wondering what happened to her. Is she still into reef tanks at all? When you see her again, tell her RCMike says hi.

Thank you for the clarification, Bill.

Well usually Im not one to make any waves but I feel I have a valid point here. And Bill I have nothing against you or your post but everytime I sign on here to reefcentral I have to look at my one and only infraction which happened about a year ago. It was a very similar thread and some of you may remember it, it was back when I posted a for sale ad for a friend for some equipment. Then the proceeds would go towards the Elementary School tank I was setting up at the time. It was closed by the same mod and if you do a "third party selling violation" search all these come up.

My question is how does not having a computer make it ok to third party sell items. If for some reason it is ok I would really like my infraction removed from my record. Also if I didnt have a computer I would just go to the public library or use my work computer.

Quote from the mod

"Sorry, we do not allow third party selling here. If your friend is a member, and meets the minimum requirements to sell here, have them list it them self."

DgenR8 Im not posting this with any attitude or anger towards you or Bill or anyone involved. I just have an honest question and would like to get a honest answer. This is all just based on posts that anyone can pull up on RC and look at for themselves.

Without getting into specifics of anyone's personal affairs, I am personally familiar with both user accounts, discussed it with Bill behind the scenes, and I'm satisfied that Bill did not post this thread in an effort to circumvent our 50/90 rule. People trying to circumvent the 50/90 is the exact reason for the no 3rd party selling rule.
It's a very rare occurrence, but once in a while, all the planets align.

Well I guess that answers that, thanks for hearing me cry. Bill, sorry to highjack your thread and good luck with your friends tank.

Friends to all

Friends to all

Well I guess that answers that, thanks for hearing me cry. Bill, sorry to highjack your thread and good luck with your friends tank.

Angela was (Is) friends to all that were in the club and would be the first one to help you when you needed it. She helped more people than anyone i know on here or in the club and It's her turn to get some help, At least from me as she can use some right now and i will do what i can to help her.
Bill:hmm3:

Thanks Bill for throwing this up for me. Bill knows my situation and is just trying to help me out and I truely appreciate it. The mod had called Bill on this post as soon as he posted it in private but he also looked me up and saw I was a member in good standing falling well within the post count/time restriction guidlines, and actually did have a tank fitting this one for sell. No hard feelings for your questions but in a reef club forum consisting of a group of local folks the mods can use a little more personal discretion in what they let go unflagged ie: this sell thread.
Your thread must have been for a freind thats not a member of Reef Central or like you said, they could have listed it themself. That is the big no no and what they frown upon. Bill was up front and said it was a club and RC members tank who just happens to have a bad modom keeping her off line. Also I don't have a work computer or acess to one short of bugging the neigbor and dragging preschoolers to the library to use a public computer is not my idea of fun ;) Sorry my sell thread via Bill caused problems. If they didn't stop folks from selling there freinds stuff this forum would look like another craigslist, it seems to have a lot of stuff for sell as it is :).

Its not like a infraction is the end of the world unless you plan on rocking the boat a lot. I got flagged for trying to sell my left over enka matt to mod skimmers with a few years ago. They pulled my thread from the selling forum and I was just selling it for the cost of shipping. I was told we can't buy in bulk and sell on RC even though I was not making a profit I fell under the "no bulk selling rule" and understood without complaining. I also got pulled for selling an ATO unit for my freind even though I gave it to her in the first place. When she ordered a tunze and gave it back I just put "selling for my freind" in the description and it got pulled also. In a comunity this large sometimes the good normal folks have to pay the same penalty because so many folks do not follow the rules or try to cheat them so I am OK with getting my threads pulled for that reason.

Did you ever get the tank set up at the elementary school? Do you teach there? my kids school is a no animal school because I was going to give and stock them a 55 or 125 and maintain it but they don't do any animals at all which I thought was sad for the kids. No class pets at all! I have tons of stuff I am going to list soon and they may be able to use some of it. LMK

One more post to side track this thread even further from it's original intent.....
When a member receives an infraction, nobody can see it except that member, and those on staff here. Unless the infracted member brings it up, the general membership has no idea.

Tank has sold! Yipee so I guess the planets did align for me this time! I did not even know an infraction showed up on the members log in page. Do they ever go away just out of curiosity?

Congrats on selling your tank. Ya I messed up the same way in my ad by putting "selling for a friend" when in reality he gave me the items to either use for the school tank or sell and donate the proceeds to the project. So I should have just listed them myself. The school tank is doing great and is full of lps, softies, zoas donated by club members and other people. I dont work there, I just saw the librarians ad on Craigslist asking for help and I got involved.

Also my infraction is listed at the bottom of the page after I log in. Now I can minimize it but it never goes away. At least I cant make it go away......maybe the RC gods good make it go away since I have been a good little user for a while now. hint hint

Congrats, Angela. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Infractions can be set to never expire, but that's very rare. They are really used as a tool we use them in place of PMs, as PMs were being ignored. We didn't go out of our way to implement them, they came with the new software the board runs on, and they are useful.
Once they expire, any effect they may have had on the functionality of the user's account are lifted, but there is always a record that the infraction was levied, that's another useful tool to easily identify repeat offenders.
Again, only the staff and the user can see it. Nobody else knows unless the user tells them.

If you would like to close this thread it no longer serves any useful purpose, Please be my guest and thank you for being Very Fair in your Wisdom of decision making.
Thanks again
