Galaxia coral

Is it possible to keep my galaxia against another rock, causing the galaxia to encrust over onto the other rock? I've got a small frag that is growing tremendously fast, and I would like to share a bit of it with someone, but I don't want to cut any of the coral up. Will it move over onto the other rock?

I had a galaxia a while back that did start to grow onto a rock. The rock was touching the coral and after a while, I noticed tentacles on the rock. It did take a while...

The frag that I have is only about two inches by two inches. Will it just keep putting on mass until it gets wider and thicker, or does it only encrust? I'm not sure about the growth pattern of this coral?
