gas bubble disease?

Hi - I have 2 female horses. I just fed and noticed that one of them has a distended belly. It is soft and white. Is this gas bubble disease or is she egg bound? Is there anything I can do to help her?

Thanks - Laurie

Can you get a picture of her? That will be the best way to try and identify what is going on. HOwever, if she's not floating, its probably not gas bubble disease. Is she acting strange? Still eating? I would guess its either an internal bacteria infection or eggs. However, eggs don't usually make the belly look distended, they just kind of fill out the area in between the trunks on the belly.

Please also post your water parameters, such as ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, temp, and information about the tank, size, how long its been set up, etc . . .
