Gate Chili High School Aquarium

Gates Chili has 6 large aquaria. We have a reef, palaegic, tropical, NY State fish, Trout and a turtle tank.

Our problem right now is that our chillers went down on the trout tank. The tank came with two 1/3 HP Current USA chillers hooked in together. One went down and we need to replace it.

We are trying to cool about 450 gallons from ambient temperature water to about 58 degrees.

Can you make a recommendation for a 1HP chiller that will suit our needs and replace the two smaller units?

I agree with the brand recommendations, but do NOT look at Aquacon as they are a known bad dealer.

I've never dealt personally with Aquacon, but at least one of the pictures of a coral on their website they used from someone without permission. A lot of their pictures look way different, so I'm guessing they've done it with more than one person. That's a shady practice and I would stay away from them.

Drs Foster and Smith have excellent service and pretty much everyone regards them highly. Someone from the Upstate Reef Society may have an extra chiller hanging around they would be willing to sell you. Check them out in the local club forums.

It is not as easy as described Ellie

1. Where it says Video on Demand scroll down past The Ride Video window and click on the little box that says "click here for all district videos
2. Then in the Channel drop down box choose "High School"
3. Finally Scroll down past the player window and click Aquatics Lab 1 and the News video will run
