Gate valve question

I need to order one and they have 2 choices.

FPT x FPT

Slip x slip

I tried looking but couldn't find the differences between the 2. Can someone explain it to me. please.

slip x slip is smooth in side for cementing the pipe in place.

Personal opinion take the valve with you to Home Depot and just buy everything that fits, then return what you don't use.

Every time I do PVC work I seem to be making another trip to Home Depot.

Doesn't matter - the first rule of plumbing is that no matter what you buy at Home Depot, it's not what you need and you need to make 3 trips back! :headwalls:

My personal preference for the gate valves is to get the threaded (FPT-FPT). That way you can easily salvage the valve if you ever re-do your plumbing.
