GBTA and black ocellaris?

I recently acquired a pair of black ocellaris clowns which I am very fond of and decided to try to get them to host in a GBTA which I understand is not a natural host.

They have only been in the tank for two days but as of yet they have not hosted the anemone. Are there any tricks that I can try to compel them to do so? Any help would be appreciated!

There really aren't any. I have had my RBTA and clowns since August, and everyday they seem closer to diving into their host anemone, but they don't. I have tried the 'hanging a picture on the tank method' with no luck, and I think part of the reason that it is not a natural host, is not going to help in getting them to host.

It also depends, are you clowns tank bred or wild caught?

My pair are tank bred. I currently have three pictures taped to the glass, which as of yet has not helped. This did howver help in an old tank with an ocellaris and a sebae, actually it worked overnight.

I will be really bummed out if it takes that long (or never happens at all), guess I just have to be patient.

My fem B&W occ took about a month to find her new RBTA. I didn't do anything special, just waited and hoped! She still hasn't let the male in yet... he's getting closer though!

I've heard shining a light on the nem at night can help... or placing one of those clownfish shaped veggie clips near it. Good luck! :D

have they hosted yet??
i could send you a picture of my black ocellaris and gbta if you really think that the unnatrual-ness of it is really a factor

My B&W didnt host my Rbta for about four months then one day one of my RBTA's Moved closer to where they hang out and they started touching it and picking at the tentacles with their mouths and then the next day i came home and foud them inside swimming around, it was probably like the most exciting thing that happened to me that week. Well worth the wait, the black and orange looks way cool. good luck.

spot feed the gbta and they will find it looking for the food i have never had a issue with my clown hosting and they all are tank raise B&W or true

Thank you for your suggestions! Unfortunately, they have not hosted yet and while I remain frustrated I guess I shouldn't expect too much. However, I am going to try all the suggestions to see if they will work.

I think that sounds like a great idea, however if I do that my cleaner shrimp pair will dive right in after the food. I basically have to feed them first (they are like children) or they will cause trouble.

I am going to try that tonight.

I will keep you you posted on my success or failure.
