GBTA, emergency!?

I got a GBTA 3 days ago and it's been incredibly happy - fully open larger than my outstretched hand, the tentacles were nice and bulbous, and it didn't move from where I first put it. I just came home after having the lights on for 2-3 hours and it's completely closed up and it looks like 1/2" neon green spaghetti sticking out. I fed it a shrimp last night, is this something they do after being fed, or what!?

I do have two peppermint shrimp that were picking at it just a little bit the first night I got it. I caught one actually pulling tiny pieces of flesh off of it. I'm off to work and hopefully this will have opened up by the time I get back.

it was even open this morning before i turned the lights on.

Bubble's anemones deflate themselves for 30 minutes to an hour to expel waste. Did you notice any brown material being expelled from the mouth. The peppermints could be the main culprit here and could have harassed/eaten more of the anemone at night time.

I have kept peppermints with bta's only had problems with them steeling food never eating my anemones. If your peppermints are picking off flesh, I would remove them or at the very least feed them. My guess would be that it's eliminating which can last for a few hours in this kind of deflated state. Give us an update this evening : )

Phew, I got home and it looks happy as ever. It's funny, this is the first anemone I've ever gotten and I don't know much about them. Thanks for the help guys!

I think that they will do this to expel waste and take in new water. My BTA would do this daily for about 30 min and return to normal. It is not a problem if it happens and goes away quickly.
