GBTA help

I have had my GBTA for almost two months now. It has been shrinking and hiding about the same time every night. It does not come back out until the lights come on. It has stayed in the same spot for the last month and a half. I had thought that he found a happy home. Last night he took a crawl. When it expanded all of the color looks to be gone. Almost white around the mouth. Some of the tenacles seem to have some color. Has been hosting my true perc since added into the tank. The tenacles don't seem to "bubble" any more either. Am I losing my bta? My tank parameters are as follows. The tank is a 55 long with current nova extreme pro t-5's
ph 8.2
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
ammonia 0
phospahte > .03
magnesium 1300
dkh 11
calcium 420

Any help or ideas would be great I would hate to lose this.

Usually when BTA's are acting his way, it because the tank is not mature enough to keep an anemone. Another possibility is that you don't have enough light. When I am diving, i usually see them in very intense light like SPS intense light. I noticed that mine had lost its "bulbs" also, so I increased the light significately and the BTA stopped looking like a long tentacle and it squatted down and got its "bulbs" back again. Also the color intensified to brighter then it was when I first got it.

The water parameters haven't changed in 6 months maybe even a little longer than that. How many watts per gallon are needed? I have read that people have t-5's over there 55 and bta's that are thriving.

I guess every tank is a little different. Do you know anyone that has a tank with healthy BTA's that could keep it for awhile and see if it comes back?

I have two BTA's one green and one rose under a 1000 Watt bulb and a luminarc III and they love life. I also have one under 4 48" T5's that are overdriven with a icecap 660. It is in a tank that is only 12.5 wide and tall. So a lot of light.... the T5's are at 10.6 watts per gallon, the halide is at 5 watts per gallon, but the PAR is 800 on the bottom of both.

little over a year and a half. I have been reading through this forum on anemones and people have had no problems keeping them under t-5's in a 55. I don't think any bigger t-5 would fit the tank. The lights are almost as wide as the tank and just as long. The ficture isn't that old at all just got it maybe 4 months ago.
