Your setup may be too new for any BTA. :(

Sorry, but thats all I can come up with.

How long have you had the GBTA?

Why do you have a lawn mower blenny? Please take it back to the store!! It will die in a small tank! Don't buy them!

Your lighting MAY be ok if you explain it better. BTA's tend to need more light a couple weeks after you buy them. If you want them to get tan and healthy...

7 months its been set up.... i have way more than 5 watts per gallon.... so i dont think my lighting is the problem, if i can keep a clam on my sand bed im pretty sure the anemone will be fine... ive only had it since thursday... it was beautiful he was about 8 inch in diameter, a very awesome green, then i come home today and he is all shriveled up and sad looking!!! um ive had my blenny forever and why do i need to take it back, he isnt even 3 inch long???

watts per gallon is worthless measurement, but 4 T5-HO's over a 29 is probably alright.

Anemones deflate to acclimate themselves to new tank conditions and to excrete waste. If it is deflated for more than a few hours at a time, or on a regular basis, then it's something to worry about.

yeah it stays like that for more then a few days definately a problem sounds like he's just expelling waste would be my guess, when mine is fully expanded he's about 12" from side to side.....i seen him shrivel up to like almost nothing then he's out back again the next day.... they do look very humble when they are gonna expell waste just fyi

yeah i have actually fed him twice both times mysis shrimp... and my tank temp is steady at 78... so yeah i dunno i jus fed him today and i think he is doing better let you guys know tomorrow how he is....

Agreed that he is probably just expelling waste and/or acclimating himself to your water. Your light is fine. I kept a GBTA under PCs for 6 months and it was very healthy. Now I have it and an RBTA under 4 T5s in a 55 and they are thriving. Give it a bit and see how it does.

well came home from work and he is competely deflated he jus ate last night too... maybe im not cut out to take care of anemones... he looks worse than b4 i fed him... but he still has all of his color... well we will see what happens.. thanks for all your input..

I have a similar prob. W/ my GBTA. his tentacles are deflated, and hanging down. it almost looks like he is getting ready to split, there is a small hole in the middle of its body. he will not eat. And has looked like this for a few days. i just did a h20 change and he looks worse. I have had the GBTA for about 5 months and he has never looked like this. any suggestions???

Don't feed it so often. It doesn't necessarily need to be fed at all, and IMO shouldn't be fed more than once a week.

Give it several days to settle down before you try to feed it again.
