GBTA Nighttime Behavior

I have had a GBTA for a week and he has moved around a bit but has been in same spot for the past three days. He has his foot planted on a rock and squeezes his head through two rocks to get light during the day. My tank is a 75g and there is a 150w mh about 6 in away from him and my clam. During the night and today at about 6 he shrinks back up and looks like a closed up zooanthid - ya know!
Is this normal or are they supposed to stay open 24 hrs a day. He is also facing the back glass which sucks but my 2 ocs clowns seem to hand out around his rock instead of my overflow box.

I don't feel there is anything to worry about. Some of mine do the same thing.

I hope it's not a problem. I have 1 green and a RBTA that's in the process of splitting. Both shrink up every night. The 2 osc.clowns I have still host them sticking to what little they aren't able to tuck away.

The next day they're back out about the size of a small dinner plate.

This is a question for you guys....my GBTA i got about 3 weeks ago is moving all over my tank everynight, how long does it take for it to find a spot it likes (typically)

it looks better and better each day

Could be a day could be weeks.Is it good that it takes weeks?Idk?But I would not worrie about the anemone at this point because mine would do this every night when I had my Bubbles.

I have had anemones since day 1...they scoot around all the time!! It can take a while for them to stay put...they fully deflate and look like death when they are "excreting". The one thing I learned is to never move the rock to make them face front or to a view that you like. I killed a RBTA because I so badly wanted to see it and it kept moving to the the rear...everyday I swung the rock it was on, until she gave up and died :-(

Hey, off topic but I noticed your username Papania. Does that have anything to do with the guy who was part of the mafia and now goes around preaching at prisons? Just curious.


I just bought a GBTA yesterday and he stayed in the same spot over night. Hopefully he like where he is.
