GBTA recovery

how long does it take for a GBTA to regain its stickiness? now that he is in more favourable conditions then before...(was held in a refuge)

i have him on the sand on a nice rock where he seems quite happy, in the corner of my tank where he is getting pretty irradic and chaotic flow from both my koralias crashing etc...getting a good blast of MH too..and my parameters are pretty much bang on...sg 1.026, ph 8.1, cal 440, alk 9dkh, mag 1600, trates < 10, ammon/trites/PO4 undectable, temp 78-82*

he has inflated quite nicely since acclimation and is swaying really nice as well..however has no stick or food reaction...i have tried to feed him...(likely too soon since addition, only been a day) and the food just floats away, if i sit there and hold it for him he will start to swell around it...then i leave and my stupid gutsy 6line will steal it...

his colour is beautiful, kinda a purpleish brown base with a creepy, very iridescent green glow to him...

any reassurances would be great...thanx in advance..

here are a couple pics i just took...i force fed him about an hour ago...well not force fed but i held it there and gaurded him long enough to eat it...so he is pretty inflated right now...earlier had fairly nice bubbles on one side anyway...

no flash just crappy 10000k and 420 24W Pc bulbs...the halides just shut off for a hour...will post halide pic later..glass is a bit dirty, but i didnt want to scare him by cleaning it...you can see that even with the shutter at 1/60th he is flappin around pretty good...

your doing it right, you'll need to guard him while he eats for a while ( week or so ) and it looks like he hasn't eaten in a while.

was he a fresh clone??

his colour looks ok, i suggest feeding him a little bit everyday or two for now until he recovers. ( as long as he is eating it )

excellent now i have another concern...

some of his tentacles have twisted around on themselves a couple times over...looks like the power heads are trying to tie him into balloon animals...is this a concern?

will the tentacles pinch off?

they are still inflated will they untie themselves?

i think they are just pudgy :), as the anemone inflates and deflates the tentacles can take on very odd shapes from fat and pudgy to long and skinny and everything in between.

sorry couldn't see that, he should be able to undo anything he has done. i have never heard of them twisting off their own tentacles.

i have had them twist off on a gbta b4. i also tried to stop but it was always happening so i let it go, a few were lost, but seemed enevitable with where it was at in the flow/light.

hehe i just upgraded my K2 to K3 and the flow difference is huge...i hope the GTBA likes it...soon i will be changing out my K1 for the broken K2 i just took out...then i will have almost 60X turnover in my tank...hehehhe
