I am so sad, my newly purchased bta decided to roam the tank. It somehow made it to the skimmer pump and was shredded. I managed to get what was left out of the skimmer. Its foot is pretty intact and its mouth, although torn, is there. The rest of it is gone. Its tentacles are missing, chopped off. Only a few strands remain. I put it in a smaller container and added a battery operated air pump to it for oxygen and flow. Do you think it has a chance of surviving? will it grow back its bubbles?
Now onto the tank...the tanks other inhabitants are a rbta and another bta. I did a 10 gallon water change (50g breeder tank). I added chemi pure, poly pad to the hang on the back filter. I added a small bag of purigen to the bubble trap for the skimmer. I emptied and cleaned the skimmer (it had pieces of the gbta in it). I sucked every piece of gbta out of the tank. I also put a nylon over the pump inlet.
What else can I do? Will I get an ammonia spike? Will my other bta's be affected? I am so stressed over this...Please help.
