GBTA tips falling off

Why are the tips of my GBTA falling off?
They seem to be sshriveling up and falling off.
It's eating and hasn't moved form its location in
awhile so I can only assume it's happy and
healthy. Although the bulbs haven't seemed
nice and full latley. Water chemistry is good.
The temp does swing from 78 to as high as 83
in a day. Not sure, any thoughts appreciated.

I would work on getting the temp down a bit. You can use a fan or float ice in a bag for the warmer parts of the day.

What are the other tank mates? What exactly are your water parameters and what are you feeding? What is the tank size and lighting you are using?

4 fish doing well. sand star and marble star. flame scallop. greeen zooanthids.
tiger tail doing well. snails and crabs doing well. fighting conch I haveen't seen
in awhile not sure why ussually all over tank during the day.
sg 1.024
kh 8.5
Ph 8.3
Ca 400
Mg 1100
I feed the anemone twice a week phytoplanton and a krill a week.
75 g tank with 500 watts of MH. Which I got a few months ago
to replace 260 watts of PC. I did the layers of window screens over
a few weeks to acclimate tank. This might have had an affect on the
GBTA. He sits up high in tank but dosen't move. I first noticed his very tips
turning like a light orangeish color. Then a few started to fall off. 1/4' to
1/2" long. Has this ever happened to anybody? I know 83 is high and
I'm going to install a fan but is 5 degrees a huge swing for a reef tank?
Should the fan draw air from canopy or push air into canopy?

are you sure that the tips are falling off?
ive had my marroon clowns bite the tips off on a regular basis till they kill there 1 year old tank mate.
just a thought....

I did see the false perc biting the tips earlier when he
was getting aclimated to it, but he hasn't been doing it lately.
I'll keep a close watch on him though.
The fish actually killed their anemone? Why?

eh.. i donno. Its been happening to my gbta for at least 6 months. mine twists them off then grows new ones at the base, or it'll twist off half a tenicle. the floating tenicle will then float around and land on an lps and sting the crap out of it (be aware of that)

I havent had any problems because of it though.I looked thru my old files but i cant seem top find my thread :(
