I found your thread about picking one up for 1100 what a great deal. IF you ever come across that deal again shoot me a PM haha. Glad to hear yours is still doing well.

One fish store in SoCal had a gem tang on consignment. The store was asking $1800 but was willing to accept $1500. They still couldn't sell it.

So, is there an etiquette or "rules" to follow regarding these very expensive, rare fish?
Everyone who has stayed in the hobby recognizes the expense involved, and some people certainly splurge in some areas over others.
For example, if I had a Gem Tang (topic of this thread) and posted pics of it along size a couple of my ORA Captive grown Dottybacks, would that be socially acceptable? Or would that be like the guy who parks his $100k truck & bass boat rig next to his $20k mobile home? (BTW, I'm friends with that guy, and I love fishing with him...)
