Gen-X Pump question

Good evening, all..

I have a quick question regarding these pumps.. I'm looking at buying a pump to replace the flagging PCX-40 that is currently running my 110gal system.. I've done some polling at LFS and with a few people I trust and I think I can safely go to a pump that outputs ~1500 GPH.

Gen-X offers two pumps that fulfill this output.. the PCX-100 and the PCX-70. My question is, why would they put out two pumps with such similar stats and does anyone out there have experience with both who can recommend one over the other?

A bit more background on the tank: it is an Oceanic 110, 2 drains, 60 Gallon Berlin Sump, running 1" PVC for all plumbing, Pentair 40Watt UV and 2 Pentair Chemical filters, 250# LR, remote DSB on a separate circuit.

Any help is appreciated!!

I would look at Blueline pumps. I am currently running a Gen-X 100 and the Blueline 70HD uses alot less power and moves more water.
