general questions about clams for the pros

i have one dereca and one squamosa in my 120 gal tank.

2 250w 20k MH.

I am currently using Dt's but if I'm going to feed my tank 40cc every 3 days buying a 30 0z bottle every 2 months is going to get pricy.

I do know that Dt's are the best because its live. Are the golden pearls worth a darn or is it just dead like all of the others. I don't want to pollute my tank or even take a chance. Too many other corals, etc.

If not golden pearls any other suggestions.

thanks

Sure, take a culture of DT's and grown your own. Do a search on green water. It's been discussed many times, and you're sure to find a technique that will work for you. I'm not sure Golden Pearls is ideal for clams. Might clog gills. Stick with natural living phytoplankton.
