Jason,
I ordered the genx GX6000 from you and it has been sent out. A quick question for you. Why are they so Cheap? Your site claims they are

"High quality state of the art design. GEN-X Submersible Pumps adopt a ceramic shaft and an extra long UL approved cord."

LOL I ordered one and HOPE that Its not loud , noisy , or anything else :). BTW what is the return Policy Sir? JUST IN CASE is a turd! Thanks.

Hi Andy,

Our description copy comes direct from the manufactures site, so not necessary our opinion. These are a china import pump that move water very well and we haven't had any reported problems of them breaking down etc. Our main complaint though with these is the loss of water pressure. For example if you want to pump 5 feet up or go through a lot of bends in plumbing or pressure, they do not handle very well. You'll drop flow rate really quickly.

So if you just need flow or do not need to pump very high, they make a great choice for the price.

We have a 30 day return policy, so if you do not like the pump, just let us know.

thanks

Thanks Jason !,
Ill Let you know, I have a 100 gal thats drilled for 2 overflows and have 1.5" bulkheads. Its going into a 29 gal sump so I figured its rated at 1540 gph I SHOULD get atleast 900 gph at 5 feet! We will see and thanks for the reply sir. If it doesnt work out Ill jump to the mag 12 or 18 or a dolphin. Which do you reccomend for In-Sump pumps if I do have to return it sir?

Thanks!

Andy

Hi Andy,

If the GENX doesn't work out. The Mag would be a nice quality option, or to save some money. The new Eco line we picked up. Same manufacture that makes Won and Dolphin sump pumps, only lot less money.

Hey Maldivan,
I have one of these pumps and I have it going about 5ft with flex tubing on a SCWD and I have had no problems with it to date. I love the thing! HTH.

SWEEEET! Thats exactly what i wanted to hear! I thought Id take the plunge and buy it. I posted a thread asking if anyone used it and nobody replied.Well Jason if it works as adverstised I'll definantly review it on your site. Thanks again

Andy

nine9D:

Is the genx6000 very noisy? I ask this because I can order an MR-2 with it as a supply pump for my sump and noise will be a factor.

Thanks
:bum: :smokin:

Hey herbert4,
Personally, I don't think it is noisy. It seems like a great pump fr a great price. If you can wait to see what Maldivan thinks of his I would say to hold off a few. I haven't had any problems yet and I really like this pump. Thanks.

HTH!

thanks for the reply.

Maldivan, Please make sure and post your opinion of the Genx 6000, especially on the noise level.

Thanks

i have narrowed it down to either the largest of the gen-x submersibles or a dolphin external. i deffinatly need a quite pump. being extrernal the heat transfer should be minimized, but if anyone has any experiences with the noise level i would be much appreciated if you would share...

staticfishmonger

have you considered sequence. I just got 2 and the Dart is very quiet could hardly hear it. :D

:bum: :smokin:

Hi Everyone,

Seen Sequence was mentioned and wanted to let everyone know we just received a pallet of those pumps, several models. So we will have those online soon, they are available for sale now over the phone. They seem like really high quality externals.

thanks

Fired the GenX Gx6000 today - Im very unimpressed by its flow and its got a loud Hum to it.I tried moving the valve position but it didnt seem to affect anything. The Hum is a lot louder than my lame mag 7 i used to complain about. LOL now ill stop posting that it was loud. Ill let it run for a few days and see if it gets any better, if not Im afraid Ill have to swap it out Jason. Ive got it running on 1" Hard Plumbed PVC and the head pressure is 5' with only 2 each 90 degree elbows. If the hum stops ill keep it since the flow is acceptable but I expected way more than this from a 1540 gph rated pump :(

Andy

After 2 days this pump has become annoying at will return to its previous owner - PA :). The Loud hum hasent gone away and is very bothersome in the living room. Looks like I got the bad one of the bunch. Gonna swap it for a Mag18.Theres a reason why its only $63 !

Andy

I have the Gen-X 6000 and 8500 models and i'm really happy with them. They do have a SLIGHT hum to them but not anyhting I can't live with. I have an MR-1 and MR-2 in which these pumps are being ran on and there working great.

Do you have it hard plumbed right to the pump? That's probably why it's so loud?

I agree with Errefic. My pump is not loud at all to me. I do have an in-wall setup, but when you go in the fishroom it is a slight hum but something that is not annoying. Maybe you did get a bad one, I wouldn't knock these pumps so quick, JMO.

I came into this with an open mind- I bought it and tried it.I gave it a chance, let it run for 2 days and still it sounded like it was going to fly apart. I figured maybe because its hard plumbed is the reason why (Ereefic) so I took it out and re-plumbed from the pump to 1" PVC with Vinyl tubing still vibrated badly.I took it out to my swimminmg pool and dumped it in there and tried to isolate it - still hummed loudly and Vibrated - I tried different flow settings still the same.So in IMHO these pumps are trash. It is possible like I said above nine9d that I got a bad one. Although the representitive from PA that I talked to did confirm that they were noisy. Then again he said I was the 1st to return one as well . Im swapping it out for an Eco.Jeremy said that its a quiet pump. Sad thing is it cost me $9 to send the genX back!

peace !

Sounds like you got a bad one to me. That's unfortunate because they have been a great, relativly quit pump for me.

To say there Trash though is a little premature. Not every product from every manufacturer is going to be perfect. Seeing that you have been the first to return the pump to the place you bought it says alot about the pump. Wish the pumps with great reputations could have that kind of track record. :)

Anyways, good luck with what ever pump you get.
