geo calcium reactor question

hi there yall
i got a geo single chamber calcium reactor with a pinpoint controller. by bubble rate is about 90 per min and my controller is set to go on at a ph level of 6.6 and off at 6.4. my problem is that the co2 seems to build up in the chamber over a day or so and seems like its going to burst open under all the pressure. will it? i check and relieve the co2 build up in the chamber everyday. is this normal? how do i eliminate this. is the reactor location important because mines is placed above my main tank.

thanks
mike

New unit? If yes then it's all good. I've found that until the unit slimes up some then bubbles get trapped at the top. Once the inside is a bit more slippery then the bubbles get sucked into intake.

No need to vent it, just jiggle it around a bit & the bubbles will get sucked back into the loop & used up.

thanks for the quick reply erik,
yah its a new unit.
is it normal for the bubbles to build up in the chamber. is the co2 going to disolve in the water? how does the co2 that enters the chamber escape, does it need to exit the chamber somewhere or disolve in the water. sorry for the retarded questions, im just trying to understand my equipment.

thanks erik.

How big of tank do you have . i am runing a geo reator on my 110 whith only 35bpm with 20ml efflunet comeing out 90bpm sounds like lot of co2

Concur - that seems like a huge amount of CO2.

Anywho - the CO2 just keeps getting circulated through the unit until it's all dissolved in the water (part of his design). Some will escape through the effluent but based on my experience most of it is re-captured. The pump chops up the CO2 bubbles & that helps it dissolve into the water. The more CO2 in the water, the lower the PH = more media dissolves.

The only question that fits that description is the one you don't ask ;)
