Geo leaking CO2

I purchased a Geo calcium reactor about a year ago from you guys and it was working great. After I moved and setup the reactor again I have been going through a 10# co2 bottle in about a week. There is a leak somewhere, but I can't figure it out. I bought a new JBJ co2 regulator, a new 10# tank, a new dennerle check valve, but it is still leaking CO2 from somewhere. I used both of the nylon washers that came with the regulator.

Can the CO2 be leaking from the Geo reactor? I have replaced everything else but the reactor, this thing is driving me nuts. Any help is appreciated.

If you are going through that much co2 in a week you have a leak somewhere before your needle valve. Try using only one nylon washer and tighten the nut back down on the tank. I'm not familiar with that particular regulator however.

yea, that's what I thought, the leak would have to be before the needle valve, that's why I bought the new regulator. I will try 1 washer and tighten the heck out of it. Do you recommend using teflon tape on the tank threads?

No teflon is needed. If the washer doesn't work then you will definitely leak. The reason being is the gap between the shaft and that nut around it does not seal. So if co2 were to escape from the washer, it would go out the front end of that nut, the tape would be useless.
