Getting a New Tank

So what came was not worth keeping then?

It would not have held water, was obviously out of square, globs of silicon were all over, the glass was crooked -about a 16th of an inch off (at least) on the seam on the front left side then covered with silicon outside to cover it up, and there was a large chip in the glass on the back right seam near the frame, so I sent it back.

I kept the stand and canopy, but the stain job was poorly done, the sump door was poorly cut, etc (big notch taken out by the bandsaw in a corner and stained over and not filled). At least the canopy was made as I wished so props to them for that. Also I was appreciative that euro-bracing was offered for free due to them losing the notes as to what kind of tank I had ordered in the first place.

Problems happen, it's how they're dealt with and made right that speak volumes. I do have every confidence that the problem will be rectified, though, as all other tanks I've seen by them are great.

I am positive he will make it right as well. I was a bit disappointed it was delivered like that in the first place but I'm sure the sequel will be all good.:beachbum:

The tanks will turn out great. Everyone messes up from time to time. The company knows there was a problem and it is being taken care of. Should have my tank by the weekend I hope. Will post some pics when I get it.

I love the dimensions of your new tank, Rhett... can't wait to see it. Just about the perfect tank to light with only 2x250w MH's and maximize the gallons! Hmmm... I'm thinking an achilles may like those dimensions, too. :D

2 X MH on a 72" tank may be stretching It, I have three on a 60" tank and It's just right. A 2X2 spread Is about the area Lit by one 250W so Three at least IMO. Plus some T5's to boot!

I agree. 2 250's would not work on my 60" so now I have 3 250w LumenMax Elite's I'll be installing

I'll be going with 3x250w MH and probably 8 36" T5's. The quality of his tanks are great. Like I said earlier there are always problems no matter where you go or what your buying. Its how the company handles the problem is what makes that company worth dealing with. It always goes both ways though. I dont like complaining because I dont like people doing it at my job. If the problem has been made aware and it will be fixed is my only concern. Andy youll get to see pics. If you want to see them quicker go to the Critter they have them there too.

Oh yeah Brandon Im already trying to find one along with a pair of Blue striped clowns and probably 8 Anthias. Oh course Ill be keeping my Tomini Tang and my Mandrian (A.K.A FatBoy)

Well I got the new tank and I love it. Been doing some plumbing today and patching up the sheetrock where the last tank was (had wiring running through a wall into another room). This tank is only 19" tall as where the other was 24" so there will be new holes to make.(My wife frowns, lol) Here are a few pics of the tank, stand and sump. Also a few pics of the rock I will be putting in it. Also excuse the date on the pics I forgot to reset the camera before I took the pics.

Oh yeah pics of the sump. The stand has a total of six doors on it. Makes it easier to work on things under there. Will probably go with an external skimmer and fuge. Ordered three new reflectors, one dimmable ballast and three Radium bulbs should be here in a few days. Im excitied about getting this thing going.

OH man that is sweeeet!!! I was asked by the wife, when we get a new house (may have to move in 6 months for work) if I wanted to move my tank or get a new one. Looks like I finally got that premission. Love the dimensions on that one Rhett. I may have to copy cat that! but then again, I may go with something like 48x30x20. I can re-use my existing lights. I like the effect of hte depth fornt to back. Also, I love your overflow. absolutely awesome!!!!

I appreciate the kind words guys. I really like it so far. Just takin my time with it. I went through alot of planning and no need to rush now. Must admit I cant wait to get atleast rock and water in though. In a few days.

Patience Is the best thing you can have on your side In this hobby! Plus the lingering enjoyment of the build IMO are worth every minute of the time. Looks better In person as the Starfire really gives you an amazing clarity Into the tank. This will be a great tank In time and was well worth the wait. Have fun getting It together as that's the good stuff.

Awesome tank man, I absolutely love the Ocea rear overflows like this, and the stand is excellent. Did they make the stand too?

Nice pictures on the wall too! I've been debating about doing that since I got my new camera and don't really have anything nice hung up in my fish room.
