IF you have connection concerns PLEASE post them on the support forum, it is THE only way GHL will see them and reply.

So save getting frustrated and thinking your concern is being ignored please post there, I can then monitor it for a timely reply.

I put a sticky up a long time ago about this, please can everyone remind themselves of this, it will help you out greatly, and saves a lot of frustration

Hmmmm, ok nano, I will let you know. I only connect to view parameters and tinker occasionally with AI LED program, maybe 10-minutes connection time at a pop. What is typical connection time before it drops on you? What windows version are you using? I am running the program now on my windows XP laptop only, gave up on the windows 7 laptop. I was still having issue with windows 7 laptop. Did you try right clicking on the Profilux icon on your desktop go to properties and then compatibility and then click run this mode in compatability in XP? I did not try this on the windows 7 computer. It might make a difference?

Michael, I think we all know to go to GHL support forum for official help. It doesn't hurt for us to reach out to fellow reefers unofficially also - does it? Many times on RC, have issues been resolved by many minds thinking about it. Ideas, trial and error, and common complaints can all be good when shared too. We are not lambasting GHL, it's a neat product with some bumps just like every other product out there. The more sophisticated, the more issues potentially. Nanotank has helped me with programming issues that were not resolved on the GHL forums - Why - because he could take the time to hold my hand and walk me through where I was screwing up. We understand that individual instruction may not be possible from you/Matthias due to volume of questions you receive and you having a life outside of Profilux. We all know the manual is seriously lacking - fellow reefers who have had their systems longer and have figured out its operation can help those of us who are new to Profilux and struggling with understanding some of the options/programming. It's all positive, just frustratingly positive sometimes thats all. This is what makes RC so valuable and fun.

Bill, it varies actually.. The longest it has ever stayed connected was a few hrs. I have set a few properties different on the PC so I am hoping that may help. On the capability option I do not see XP listed. I am running XP. Bill a good program to monitor your system when u r away is marinemad.com for us II owners.

Ok so be on the lookout next week for new firmware for us II owners? That's good cause my program just went to not responding mode again...

Hey nano,

I stayed connected for several hours without a drop with the drivers/versions I listed above. Response is immediate on mouse clicks, etc..... On a side note, the dosers are set up per our previous phone call a couple of weeks ago - again, thanks for helping me to understand the programming. But I have not seen those pumps come on once yet, only set to run 5 times a day on auto dose for about 20 seconds or so each time. My pH is pretty good, so they must be coming on, just haven't witnesses it yet. Sneaky. Very satisfied so far with what the Prof can do, just wish the learning curve wasn't so inherantly difficult to master. Hopefully you will benefit from the new firmware version coming out this weekend.

I think Michael said in his response above to use a Dremmel on the controller if you still have problems? Or..... something like that?
