whats the best way to get baby bangaii cardinals to eat something other than baby brine shrimp? I have 5 babies that are about a month or so old. They are getting big but wont eat anything other than live baby brine shrimp. I haven't tried much... Freeze dryed cyclop-eeze, frozen cyclops and frozen daphnia. Should i try frozen BBS? any tips? like would mixing frozen with live help? or adding selcon or garlic guard?

Mix the frozen with the live, but stir it up so they are moving.I think thats key.Later start trying flake. Just keep the food moving.

GOOD LUCK

I've been doing this for about a month and they still wont eat the frozen by its self... they bit it then spit it out. its pretty frustrating. They are 2 months old; how long has it taken other people to get them off of live BBS?

Bangais love live food.....and really the only other food they like are frozen foods chopped very finely...feed in small amounts frequently .....formula one frozen, not formula two...they like meaty foods ...I usually having eating frozen foods in 4-6 weeks, and live brine 2-3 times a week, even the mated pairs...not much luck with dry prepared food or flakes

I feed my little babies grated PE mysis shrimp. I use a kitchen grater to shave the shrimp into baby bite sized pieces. Sometimes I let them go a day or so without BBS so they are really hungry when I add the frozen. I have never gotten any of my babies to eat flake or pellets. The best I can do is frozen foods :(

PE mysis shaved off the block with a razor. Feed it to them the exact way you feed the live shrimp. I use a pipette. Mixed frozen and live. They will eventually catch on. It usually takes a week of daily mixing then you can start to do just frozen. Picsene Energetics Mysis shrimp is the best food for them. aka PE mysis.

hmmm, I'll try that. I feed PE mysis to their parents every other day. I guess the Cyclops and frozen BBS are not tasty enough.
