Yup. I've had enough. The tank has been slowly going downhill for the last year, and I'm sick of fighting with it. I'm selling just about everything as I need the money anyway. It's been a good nearly three years, though.
This is very difficult for me to do, so please be nice.
Algae has slowly beaten my will to continue this hobby. It has killed some of my corals, and makes my tank look ugly. It is friggin everywhere. It slows down the flow from my powerheads, clogs my overflow, and gunks up my sponge. I'm done fighting it, really. I'm not sure I can sell any of my live rock in good conscience because of all the phosphate that must be sitting in it. Mostly I think I'm going to throw it out. Any coral that is growing on live rock will come with the rock, which you are then free to do with as you wish.
Livestock MUST be sold first, then equipment can be sold in whatever order. Livestock is currently PICKUP ONLY, as I have no means of shipping and I have NO polybags left right now (although I do have gallon ziplocks which can be used for pickups, otherwise if you'd prefer polybags please bring your own, sorry!). The smaller equipment can be shipped anywhere, but I'd rather not ship the larger items (although if necessary it can be done). I'd prefer cash or MO. Any livestock not sold within two weeks or so will be (hopefully) traded in to the LFS for credit (for dog food, heh).
I'm giving all you NJ people first crack at this. I want to thank you all for an enjoyable hobby, as without you I never would have have succeeded for as long as I did.
Pictures are available upon request of any item.
So without further adieu, on to the items...
Livestock:
False Percula (Ocellaris) Pair, approx. 2.5 years old. $30
Royal Gramma approx. 3-4 inches, approx 2 years old. $15
Mandarin Dragonet approx 2 inches, approx 1.5 years old, $15 (no promise I can possibly get this fish out until all rock is gone)
Cleaner Shrimp, approx 3-4 inches, approx 1.5 years old, $15 (Recently MIA, may be molting, I will update to let you know)
5x or 6x Super Tongan Nassarius Snail, about an inch long each, $2 each
3xHammer Coral, flourescent green 18-20 heads each, $40 each
Short Tentacle Plate Coral, about 4-4.5 inches across, pinkish purple, with a bit of green under actinics, $30.
Kenya Tree, about 4-4.5 inches tall, $40
Toadstool leather, about 4-4.5 inches tall and 4-5 inches across fully expanded, $30
Frogspawn Coral, white with 6 heads, $40
Trumpet Coral, flourescent green, 13-15 heads, $40
Burgundy Star Polyps 1.5" x 1.5" approx. AND Green Star Polyps 1" by 1" approx., Burgundy Polyps now pale brown because they are unhappy. Burgundy Polpys are on rock with a few pink Anthellia Polyps, and Green Star Polyps are on another rock, $10 takes all.
Anthellia Polyps, pink, all attached to various sizes of rock, $10 a chunk (since it's attached to my sucky rock).
Rose Bubble Tip Anemone, 5-6" across, attached to rock covered in mostly orange zoos, rock is size of large grapefruit or small honeydew melon, $80 gets it all (including what I believe to be a bunch of Halimeda Macro growing on the rock).
Green Hairy Mushrooms, $1 per mushroom if you're already buying something else, including the rock it's growing on. I believe I have a few left in various parts of the tank.
Galaxy Coral, green/brown, $20 for small piece plus the rock it's attached to, $30 for large piece, plus the rock it's attached to.
Green Zoos/orange zoos, "scratch and dent" as they are unhappy, plus the rocks they are attached to, $5
Various Zoos (oranges and greens), very large rock plus whatever else is attached (Halimeda, etc), $20.
Equipment:
92 Gallon Corner Tank, Black stand (a few months shy of 3 years old). Comes with overflow box and sump (originally an Americal wet/dry, but I got rid of the bioballs), and I think I still have the original striplight (not that any of you actually want that, however it is included) and possibly the original glass top. Tank is in good condition with 1 small scratch on the inside of the glass in the top right corner from me carelessly moving rock around. It's NOT a crack, and is difficult to see. The stand is in good condition as well, although has some salt spray inside and a few rub marks on the outside. $300 for everything, and I'll help you load it if you come pick it up
. No shipping on this.
36" Tek Light 8-39W T5 AND acrylic shield, purchased July 29th, 2005 making it almost 7 months old and still looks new, plus some extra daylight bulbs I have lying around, and the original box (no original packing materials, however), $200 (cost me $451.95 + shipping new from ReefGeek, current new price is $431.95 + shipping new from ReefGeek)
Euroreef CS2-8 EXT skimmer, purchased from H20 Tropicals on November 28th, 2004 making it almost 1 year 3 months old, had the impeller magnet go bad in October of 2005 and replaced that, other than that it's still in pretty good condition and skims like mad, although the silicon between the outlet pipes will need to be replaced (no big deal, obviously), $300 including the never used elbow and threaded bulkhead (cost $688 new including shipping and 1.5" PVC Elbow [never used!] and 1.5" threaded slip bulkhead [never used!])
2xReio Seio M820 powerheads about 7 months old (purchased around same time as Tek Light), $25/each.
1xReio Seio M620 powerhead about 7 months old (purchased around same time as Tek Light), $15.
From my 20 Gallon Tank:
1 Yasha Shrimp Goby (partner mysteriously disappeared between 1-2 months ago) and 1 Randall's Pistol Shrimp, SOLD AS PAIR ONLY, each about a year old, $50. If in the event the 2nd Yasha Shrimp Goby suddenly appears (which is unlikely given the amount of time it's been since I've last seen and fed him), total price will be only $70. These will be tough to get out of the tank.
20 Gallon Long, a bit over a year old, comes with a homemade HOB refugium (made from an Aquaclear 110 HOB filter with a plexiglass baffle epoxied in) and an inside the tank surface skimmer/overflow filter intake, and I believe I have the original strip light, $30
Liverock from this tank is $10 for all of it (assuming it isnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t sold as part of the complete setup). This is good live rock and this tank has ONLY seen RO/DI water. Rock has some bubble algae, and a bit of turf-like algae, but only because the hermit crabs ate most of my snails and then got lazy and fell down on the job. I've been neglectful and haven't bought more cleanup crew.
24" 2x65w Coralife Aqualight CF fixture with stand/feet a bit over a year old, bulbs need to be changed but otherwise like new condition (saltspray not withstanding), $50.
I would be willing to sell the 20 Gallon as a complete setup, including the Goby, Pistol Shrimp, whatever hermit crabs and snails are left, live rock (and sand/coral gravel mix if you want it), HOB refugium, 24" 2x65w Coralife Aqualight, aquaclear powerhead, and heater for $100.
Misc:
36" 2x96w Coralife Aqualight CF fixture, 1 10K and 1 actinic bulb used for 6 months, unit is used but not abused, $80
24" 2x65 Coralife Aqualight CF fixture, 1 10K and 1 actinic bulb used for 6 months, unit is used but not abused, $40.
24" 2x65 Coralife Aqualight CF fixture, 1 socket broken, free to the first person to buy one of the other Coralife Aqualight CF fixtures. Don't know what you would do with it, but maybe it's good for parts? Who knows. The remaining socket works fine. As I said, free.
Again, I can take whatever pictures you like, just ask. If you ask for pictures do not feel that you are required to buy anything, as I realize that you may not be able to make a decision without pictures. There are no hard feelings here if you decide you do not want whatever it is. I should be able to provide pictures on request same day.
