Getting ready to switch to 2 part

I have seen zero complaints about this doser and I know there are quite a few out there.

Like I mentioned, I have a call in to the source to see what they say. At the very least, it has proven to be quite consistent.

For those of you that dose via brs or drews dosers - are you guys using timers, or aquarium controllers?

Controller. To adjust the amount I dose for a given supplement, I just add or subtract minutes from the timers that control when that pump comes on. Simple and easy. And I can do it from my laptop plugging into the controller's bus via usb, or directly from the head unit.

On a positive note it's good two heads move the same amount of liquid. That should keep Alk and Ca balanced.

From the way you are writing this up I assume you are not able to tell the doser to just run a head for X minutes every hour. Is this correct?

If that is so it seems difficult to get really fine control over dosing. If the error is not linear it will also be a PIA. Perhaps you don't need really fine control.

Do you have a estimate of the amount of daily dosing you need?

Another thought...
Perhaps the unit just needs to run some to get 'broken in'. I'd set it up and run it for a few days and see if accuracy gets any better. Just water into buckets for now.

In my experience, one should not get hung up on dosing exactly the same amount. One should let testing dictate how much of each should be used. When I had my 24" Monti cap, I dosed almost twice as much calcium as alkalinity supplement daily. It was a giant calcium sponge.

John you are correct that pumps 1,2 and 3 are all very consistent, just dose 10% heavy. If I reduce the ml's dosed by 10% I get exactly what I want.

You are also correct in that you program in ml's, not time. You can dose to to 24x a day and if you want to dose 24 times between 2 and 3 pm, you can program as such. Very nice in this regard.

I have inquiries sent to both the distributor and jabeo. We will see what happens, but I don't feel entirely uncomfortable using it at this point

I use Drews dosers and also use a controller.. My reef angel app let's me adjust from my phone or computer wireless..

I'd be a little hesitant to use it also if out the box it's dosing 10ml higher.. If you can adjust and compensate for it I wouldn't worry about it to much.. But if you calibrate it and it continuously drifts higher what's to say it's not going to continue to do it? But if it's a consistent number that doesn't correlate with the setting you have imo that's OK. Like Ken says my Drews are all a few ml's off from each other but they are always off the same.

I would set it up to dose for a week into a measuring cup a set amount and not touch it.. See if they are all dosing the same amount as programmed (or at the 10ml over) consistently..

Fwiw if you abandon them you can make Drews dosers like I did for about $65 each with the pumps straight from the manufacturer and a project box.. I put both into a single box works well and looks professional.. I got all the info if you need it in the future.

Still loving the lights?

Oooh I like the idea of making my own custom housing. The only thing that makes me hesitant is buying a controller to operate the dosers. I know they're great for lots of other things, but I already have a nice heater with a finnex digital controller, I have a nice ATO....etc

The lights are awesome Daniel. Thanks again for all the assistance in this regard. Some things were too far gone from the leds, but others are recovering nicely. The colors, growth, etc are all hands down better than before. I also picked up a piece of ponape birdsnest that was white about a month ago that is now turning bright green. Pretty amazing. I was really getting frustrated about reefing. I figured it was as impossible as lots of folks claim so it's nice to have correct lighting and to finally see some positive results in my sps. Everything else did good for the most part, but sps was hit and miss for me before the t5s. But mostly miss lol.....

Funny thing is I have yet to use the dimming function of the light....
