Getting rid of Xenia...

I hear it's nearly impossible. Can u isolate the rock it is on?

My technique for KEEPING it (as opposed to getting rid of established colonies), is to keep it on an isolated heap of rock rubble in the front corner of my tank. I then thin it from time to time and give it away.

Cut it as low as possible, then scrap the rock with a razor blade. Or if you can pull it from the rock, you can then take a toothbrush and scrub whats left. I did this when I cleared mine out. I also run fresh carbon just in case something is released in the water.

if you can get the rock out and pull the xenia off and do a fresh ro water dip for about 5 min... this will kill the xenia.....as long as no other coral r on the rock....works great for me.....

When I thin mine out, I cut it as close to the rock as possible and coat what is left with Aiptasia-X.
