Getting that color??

Thanks. The mother colony was a 6 inch long wild Aussie frag selling for $150, but I got them to make me a frag for $20. I am waiting for an Aussie Enchinata the one with whit base and blue tips, to come in again.

I want my replacement bulb to come already! New frags looking good, I have them on the sand bed acclimating to the light. I doubt they need it though, they where under LEDs in a shallow tank with higher PAR than my tank.

I took a few pictures of a frag I have now since my propagation is becoming more established since a move at the beginning of this year. Here are a few pictures from 6-07-11, 6-13-11, and 6-17-11.

^ starting to get some nice color, when type of acro is it? I really enjoy watching my sps color up and hate it when they brown out. No more brown for me!

I have very similar acro that's mostly green with pink accents and polyps, no idea what species though. It's been pretty hardy for me in my crappy tank.

Got my replacement bulb in. Packed a lot better this time and not broken. The old bulb was bluer for sure, spectrum shifted. Back to the nice bright white blue again. It will be interesting to see if the new bulb helps with color any more. Since the corals have been coloring up nicely under older bulbs a new bulb may be helpful as well. My new SC150 is still skimming away.

Little update. My new bulb is brighter and less blue than the old one for sure. After 6-7 months the bulb shifted spectrum and lost intensity. Did a water test last night.

Corals are still looking good no increased coloration at this point but no lost color. I want to get the no3 down a bit but with out a fuge or vodka it is staying at 20.

I am still having trouble with blues :deadhorse1:. My blue bottle brush is all pale brown and has some stn on the back side dont know why, my scripps is still brown, I have an unknown acro that has 1 blue tip. I want the blues :sad1:

Well my corals continue to grow nicely some coloring up more others not still. The 2 new frags are doing well the Aussie Granulosa is growing and encrusting the disc. I am upgrading to a 75 soon, getting the tank when my friend breaks it down. Already have the needed skimmer and just got a 2nd 250w light for the new build. I picked this up a week ago as well.

Maybe this has been brought up in previous post but I've been using zeo sponge power drops and blues have def improved. More so on the tips but it really does help with the blue color.

Alright, Allsps40 I'm going to jump on board because I have no clue why my color has faded. I know we both keep 40breeders so maybe it's the 40br curse? Were pretty much running a similar system so maybe we can figure something out. I have ton's of sps as you do and several frags have lightened in color dramatically and another acro has semi browned and a purple stylo has lost a lot of color as well. I will take pics when I have my camera handy and post them but for now i'll post numbers. I picked up several frags from Kataro (sorry folks allsps40 and I are local to each other, so if it doesn't make sense I apologize)a couple months back, a grape juice acro, purple monti cap and a red planet. All 3 looked absolutely stunning in his tank, fast forward several months later and all 3 have a complete lack of color. Now they aren't bleached by any means but just seem to have faded dramatically.

Top off is with kalk water and I dose Vit c. (it was the same scenario without the vit c as well, so I know this isn't the cause) all other system specs are in my sig.

I use RSCP salt and noticed a slight color change in the right direction but still not coming full circle, actually not even a quarter circle. All other frags are doing fine, but who knows if they are even showing their full potential (which I highly doubt). LPS and zoa's are doing great.
