I think I enjoy the hardware/plumbing/building part of reefing as much as I do the actual keeping of a tank. And since I'm also a tinkerer, I'm getting the itch to redo my sump.
And by redo I mean relocate, expand, overhaul and whatever else I can over-complicate.
Currently I have a pretty typical under-tank/in-stand sump setup. The tank is against a dividing wall that separates 2 rooms. I'm thinking about moving the sump to the opposite side of the wall, allowing it to be bigger, easier to access, etc etc.
The downside is that I'd have to run plumbing through the wall, which is simple enough in theory, but knowing my history with DIY projects, what should be fairly simple may well turn into a small nightmare.
So my question is this...
When running plumbing through a wall (1, maybe 2 1.5" drain lines and a 1.5" or so return line), what kinds of things am I not thinking about that might turn a relatively small hole in drywall into a much bigger project?
