Gfo?

I need to get some more GFO. Seeing what people use.


Does everyone get the stuff from BRS? The regular or high capacity?

Does anyone use another brand?

Regular BRS gfo works great for me. Never tried the high capacity wondering if its worth the extra money

+1 as above always wondered also I can tell when I need to change my gfo so it def helps my heavy feeding hand

I used to buy the regular gfo from brs but it got expensive so I gave the stuff on ebay a try and had the exact same results so now I save a bunch of money and keep my phosphates down. Here is what I buy

Not sure why it wont work but on ebay type in gfo and you will see a listing for 6 pounds of gfo for $66. Thats a damn good price if you ask me, lol

Dude...high cap gfo is way worth it...i was changing the regular gfo every 3 weeks...
I get 16 weeks out of the high cap gfo....it does get hard so you need to turn up
the pressure as the weeks go on...

What IS gfo? Same thing as PhosGuard?

Gfo is granular ferric oxide and it removes only phosphates from the water. It works best when run in a media reactor because if it isn't kept under a good amount of flow it will clump up and not allow the water to run through it

I have used many different brands of GFO, tho not the high capacity stuff, and find tv all work about the same.
