GHL Mitras Club

glad you like it, hope your customers like it and get good results too. I should work out how to store the files online so anyone can access them rather than sending about 30 emails today lol and hopefully my program doesnt kill others tanks :(

im building a new tank too! 2300x750x500 (mm that is), deciding if ill keep mitras or go the ATI LED hybrid (more cost effective)

Whatever choice you make I'm sure it will be a good one. I have customers thst have had Vertex, Radion, Orphek and Chinese imports. All good but it's preference. Just like TV'S. Once you buy one another technology arrives. IMO nothing beats metal halide. They are the king in lighting. I used to run XM 400 20K. Best bulbs I ever used for growth and maintaining color. God damn things cost too much to run, otherwise I'd still be using them today. However LED fixtures are so expensive. they both are expensive either long term with hydro using halide or up front purchase of LED. I think it would take 8 years for my Mitras fixtures to pay themselves back in hydro. What a bunch of bananas!!!! That's if I don't switch them out during the 8 years and buy something new or go back to halide. Then you really burn money.
Try not to keep swapping out your units like TV sets unless you feel it hurts your corals growth. I'm sticking to this now cause I have other places to throw my money. In all the years I've been in this hobby (25 years) and (14 years) as a saltwater retailer. I've seen a lot of changes. Sometimes its best to stick with whatever works for you and don't experiment much if you have a good thing going already.

Rodneyri you have a very nice aquarium, but not if you are for the image of the video but I have noticed that the colors roses and purple they do not highlight so much like with the lighting of T5, am in the certain thing?

This evening I am going to mount both Mitras that I have bought, wait not to repent because on having come of T5 not if it is going to please me or not

I will hopefully be joining the GHL Mitras club at the end of this month! I have ordered and paid for my black Mitras with HV from Reefbytes and there is supposed to be a shipment coming the end of this month! I will be running mine over my 28g Nano Cube (a "bit" overkill I know). I am just starting this tank back up and always hated the coloring, if you can call it that, that I got from the stock LED hood. Pretty much everything bleached out or didn't retain the colors I had previously seen under MH or even T5. I've ran much larger systems in the past and I am dipping my toe back in with this nano. Part of the reason for the Mitras is that when I decide to upgrade, which will inevitably happen, the Mitras can grow with me.

This might be an optional mounting method if you can't hang from the ceiling and you want to mount it "sitting" on your tank rim.

I haven't seen one in person (yet) but it looks solid from the pictures on the website.

So it is about 7 inch between the holes? Sorry I don't quite understand the "center to center" term.

I took the measurement from the center of the holes (not inside to inside) but literally from what I could determine was the very center of the holes.

Greetings Mitras Owners,

Read through your thread and I'm highly impressed with the tank shots, so thank you to those for sharing the information. This has me highly intrigued into getting these lights for my new tank build. Though it may be the wrong thread, and not to side track this thread I think I might get the best answers here.
I'm concerned with the way I had the tank built with how I might use these lights. See the pic, the tank spec are 96"L x 36"W x 24"H with a 6" top and center brace. Plan on being a SPS dominate tank with a few LPS/softies here and there to show movement within the tank. Going with the coverage area of the lights (30" x 36") from within this thread I was thinking I can get away with 3 of the Mitras covering the majority of the tank. My concern is the center brace blocking out light.
Open to any suggestions and comments. Thank you

Based on your depth you have have the Mitras fairly high so the spread "should" counteract the issue with the brace providing the brace is clear glass.

Having said that as you are 36" wide two units either side would of course be optimum, however start with 3 see how you get on.

Kroamium That is going to be one SWEET tank once you have it all set up.

I agree with Michael that optimum would be
