GHL Mitras Club

I have had the mitras 6100's for several years now over my mixed reef, and I have had no issues with them. All my corals grow well and have great color. No issues with my bubble tip anemone or clam in the sand. That being said, I recently bought a ritteri anemone. When I first bought it I thought it was basically brownish with white tentacles in my display. Well it started to deflate a bit, so I treated the anemone in my sick tank with cipro. The interesting thing is as soon as I placed the ritteri anemone in the sick tank under my aquatic life marine t5 fixture, the tentacles looked neon yellow. Very beautiful!

After I treated the anemone I placed it back in my display, and of course it doesn't look neon anymore and doesn't pop. I have played with my light settings and nothing gives it the pop I seen under the t5. This is weird because my other anemone looks awesome as well as everything else in the aquarium.

So what it looks like is the 6100 actinics do not produce that pop you get from t5s or VHO actinic. I would have never noticed to this degree if I hadn't bought the ritteri. My question is, if I change to 6200's, will I get the pop the t5 actinics is giving off?

Ok, so I added some pictures here so you can see what I'm talking about. The first pic here is the picture of the anemone when I first added to my aquarium. As you can see the tentacles look basically white with a little pinkish hue. Of course I can see that the anemone has lost some zoo anthology when I got him. He needs to be colored up.

When I noticed that the anemone was deflating, I took him out of the display and put him in my sick tank under a standard marine aquatic t5 fixture. This is where I noticed immediately the fluorescent yellow/green in the tentacles that I have always seen in ritteri's. This is him in the sick tank getting treated.

Once I got him cured of deflating, I placed him back in the tank on the edge rock I made for him. As you can see you don't see that magical color anymore. This fluorescent look is what I would like to get for this anemone. Does the mitras 6200 provide this look with actinics? or do I need another program K level that I have not tried yet on the 6100's? I have tried allot of variances and nothing is working. This is him back in the display.

Do me a favor and upload my project and let me know how it looks from 900am to 1200pm under that setting. Post 1635

Personally, I think every light source brings out different pigments in each animal..
Depending on the type or types of zooxanthellea living in the tissue of the animal, different light sources are going to reflect differently and show you slightly different colors..
Maybe your very nice bta would look less vibrant under the t5s.. Who knows..
Maybe your new anemone is still going to develop more coloration and in the future it will show that color even under the LEDs.. Hard to say..
I think coral coloration is quite variable and depends a lot on what parts of the light spectrum are shining on them..

Oh that is a fact. I have tried allot of different lights and different spectrums over the years and the corals do look different under each one of them. My favorite was 20K radium MH's with actinics. Super color! I colored up allot of corals for people. I"m just trying to get that extra glow on a ritteri that I have wanted for ever.

Well the BTA looks good under all lighting, I have had it for years under different types of lights. Its always beautiful. The new anemone as I stated and you noted has a ways to go to get its color back. I can tell you from experience, I have colored up allot corals with the mitras so there is no doubt it will color up. Not sure what it will look like, but I will post some pics. It will take some time though. Just want to make sure I get all the great color I can get out of it. This will be my next show piece in the tank.

Looking for some help guys my mitras lcd panels have gone very dim
I have checked and double checked the setting like 5 times with no luck and changed them of coarse and saved and updated view every time

Now the funny thing is the buttons brighten and dim as per the settings just the lcd stays very dim?

Now to be honest i dont know if this is the issue or not but i updated the firmware from v1.14 to 1.17 and from there they went dim but i cant say i noticed the lcd before the update or not so may of been like that already?

So what i have done
Changed the firmware back to v1.14 no good
Reset the factory settings in v1.14 no good
Changed the firware back to v1.17 no good
Restet factory settings in v1.17 no good

Buttons on the unit still dim and brighten in every step just not lcd

Every time i done one of the steps i changed the settings for the brightness and saved changes and updated view still no good

Has this happened to anyone else?
If so is there a cure? Or if not can the lcd panels be changed for new ones?

Just a chance here bu have you tried to factory reset the fixture?

Yes I have tried doing it from the lamp and through GCC with no luck
Funny thing is the buttons are dimming and brighten up fine

Can any one help me here I'm a bit stumped

My lights are not doing what they are suppose to do for some reason
I update firmware of both mitras to v1.117 and latest GCC v1.0.5.7

Now what is happening is I going into a time point I have created in the illumination run the royal blue is at 100% at 2pm here is a pic
335ec3b90b872333064011a4c28c57da_zps10f99241.jpg

There are no other time points between 2pm and 7pm

Then go to 7pm and royal blue are still at 100% but the problem is the at 6.05pm the royal blues drop to 2 % I can see this visually and if I look hard enough at the LCD because the are so dim and I they are at 100%
I can't see any change in between the two points so why does it dim
Here is the pic for the 7pm screen shot

So does anyone know what is happening here?

I am very new to the mitras, but this was happening to me and when I checked the moon simulation the time was set wrong. Check that it may have something to do with it. Can you post a picture of just the blue led to see if simulation is checked off?

Mate you are a champion:bounce3:

That's it after I updated the firm ware and done a factory reset I checked all setting and all good but the DAM moon light simulation was set to 6pm as default bugger

But you hit the nail on the head it's fine again now

Thank you
