GHL Mitras Club

Could you please advise how many GHL Mitras LX 6100 HV do I need for the sps tank of the following dimentions: 160cm length, 80cm width, 60 cm high(770 liters) - 4 units?
Will I be able to rail them to Mazarra mounting kit that is attached to aquarium?
Thanks

Most people would use 2 units.
One Mitras will cover an area of 90cm by 35 cm.
Personally, I wanted more point sources of light so I went with 3 over my tank which is 135 cm in length and pretty much the same for width and height as yours..
I hung them perpendicular to the tank.
Like this :
--------
I I I
--------

You could hang two like this
--------
- -
--------
And you would have adequate light.
I have mine set at 50% power at the moment and my tank seems very bright and extremely well covered with light.
You would absolutely not need 4 units..
You could start with two and see how you like the coverage..

I have a lot of yellow fish in my tank and I like to really see the red on the few fish I have with red on them. It seems like the 6200 would not be able to visually show the same colors on the fish as the 6100. Is that a correct statement?

no problems at all, lets put it this way if you get the 6200 and are not happy i will for free send you $300 worth of 6100 clusters ;)

Basically you will love the 6200 I have no doubt

Hello,
I have a 90cmX50cm tank that i light with 6x39w ATI Sunpower right now. Its an sps heavy tank running with zeovit method. Its time to change bulbs but i have been considering to change the lamps for a while now. Since i will have a new tank build next year LED seems a good choice for me. I am also a P3.1N user. So long story short i consider 6200HV as a candidate for future tank and i could test it out on my current tank. Is 1 unit adequate for my current size? Can it provide the same par output & coverage with an 6x39w ATI Sunpower?

Thanks

My only concern is since led is a singular light source the softies on the sides of the rocks will not get enough light and there will be dark spots..If you say one is enough with my current coral placement and rock structure then i will probably go for it.. Have you seen it?

Thank you for your prompt reply ;)

Anyone know if they are going to have a sale on the Mitras? Maybe 4th of July? I just missed the Fathers Day sale. How long before the black units are at the dealers?
Thanks
Mark

Nope sorry, all discounts were done recently for now, nothing is at all planned and to be honest we are looking at a price rise due to the euro climbing 7 points which means we are now paying $7 in every $100 more than we were, coupled with the annual cost of parts the units really are overdue for a MAP rise to make the product sustainable.

Hi guys,

I have a 8' x 3' x 2.5'H tank. Around 400 gallons. I have 3 braces at the top of the tank, giving the tank four 2 feet openings. Would the glass bracing have any effect if the light is directly on it?

Would I need 4 units of the mitras of can I get away with 3 units? I'm planning for a full blown SPS tank.

Thanks.
