This thread is awesome and has convenced me to go with mitras. I have a 225G 72long 24 wide and 30tall will I be good with just 2?

5 months old. 4 months under the Mitras.

I had a friend visit yesterday, he said he's going to invest in a couple after Christmas as he was that impressed with how they have performed. He saw the tank about 3 months ago.

Wowwwww mitras 6100 or 6200?

Hi
the spread is 36x36 so you are just on the edge of two, 3 gives better effects for example rolling cloud cover but two would do the job.

if you are an sps guy, i would definitely go with 3..
i have three on a 53 inch by 32.. 26 high..
a little overkill, i know.. they are currently running at about 60%- high efficiency.
i will bump it up a little, however.. acclimating a few new sps..
i find that the extra point sources of light give less shadowing..

michael, how long is that beautiful tank built into the white wall unit?
its running four...

Just realized, the Mitras has no day saving time function! Hope this will be fixed with the wireless connection to the ProfiLux.

By the way the PLM-PWC is over due. Have ordered and payed mine a week ago, but GHL hasn't even released it until now.

Was just an statement.

I'm pretty confident that Mathias is checking this thread frequently. ;-)

Anyway, I will follow your suggestion and post in the German forum.

This is the only LED system that has my interest. I've seen just about every other high end LED system there is and none of them have ever wow'ed me.

Great idea for the GHL Mitras on Halloween! set the moonlight to red channel only 100% intensity and then set storm function to every 5 minutes! cool indoor display illuminating the whole of the 1st floor, more so as the tank is by the bay window!

well to add some fun into this thread I thought i would start a "can a mitras grow a sorry looking SPS test"

well here are my test subjects both came from the bottom of a friend of mines old tank, he was not even aware the bit of life left in the stag horn even had polyps let alone colour.

Just for fun lets see what the Mitras can do with these two in the next month.

6200 Ceiling Mount Solutions

If going through the ceiling I would of though unless you are the luckiest man alive and have two joists 12" apart you are going to need to use a heavy duty dry wall screw and fixing. just shave the supplied screws head to fit inside the fitting.

If you are lucky enough to hit a joist then any wood screw will do, same approach - file its head.

Received my 6200 last week, updated the firmware and setup my first illumination run with no problem. Now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to mount to drywall ceiling. I get the basic concept of using a wing type fastener in the drywall, they all come with screws that don't fit the supplied fastener that came with Mitras. Don't see how shaving the head will help if threads don't fit.

What am I missing here? Suggestions, solutions very much appreciated.
