I'm thinking about some of these for my 8' x 30" x 30" FOWLR and I have a P3.
Can you explain how these work and the best setup?

Hi
The strips create the efects for sunrise sunset and moonphase as well as can provide shimmer to tanks with T5 lighting. The strips can be dimmed through the GHL ProfiLux.

The strips will also provide storm effects when used with the ProfiLux.

Each driver will run up to 4 strips which are plugged into the L sockets on your controller from there you can program them as you wish.

Michael would it be fair to say these are the modern version of the Simu-Stick (PL-0373) and Simu-Spot (PL-0355) ?

In order to control a single Mitras Simu Stick with our ProfiLix it will occupy/use 2-L ports correct?

This is on my MUST HAVE list for your next shipment :)

Would I be able to get a spectrum similar to mitras with a combination of these sticks?
I have no desire to grow coral at this time and I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to mitras.
How would you recommend lighting my tank only with these Sticks?
Or should I just hold off and get mitras...

no these are effect sticks for adding lighting supplement such as moonphase, sunrise sunset and storm modes. also adding shimmer to T5 fixtures.

We hope to have a NA version of the manual dim box for these units available soon so non GHL profiLux owners can use these high end effects lights also.

Dealers have not yet uploaded the units to their websites so please email us at sales@aqua-digital.com and we will forward your request to the nearest dealer.

Any photos of this light attached to a T5 fixture? It would be nice to have some brackets made so it can be easily hooked up to a T5 fixture with an open top tank. Since its only supposed to be used as supplemental light a bracket would go along way.

Find me an easy way to hook it up to an ATI T5 fixture and I will buy a bunch of them (I have 3 ATI fixtures)

As there are SO many T5 fixtures out there it would be impossible to make one that fits all so GHL give you easy fixing plates that you can DIY your own add on's, in this hobby there is no such thing as plug and play generic fits all brackets.

I am sure there is something that can be made that could fit the majority of T5 lights.

Anyways, if you come by an ATI fixture with one of these attached let me know.

Cheers.

One of my favorite add-on items for the GHL ProfiLux has always been the old Simu-Stick. Unfortunately due to some not thinking my installation through (I installed it in a moveable hood...long story) and ended up damaging my existing unit. I can't wait to get this one and get it installed in my tank. It's going to take "Accent Lighting/Lightning" to a whole new level.

Hi
As these are effect sticks the wattage is irrelevant as you should not be trying to grow corals under them.

Mitras-Simu-Stick 55
Dimmable LED-lamp, length incl. brackets 55 cm to 68 cm
Power consumption max. 6 W
PL-0975

Mitras-Simu-Stick 95
Dimmable LED-lamp, length incl. brackets 95 cm to 108 cm
Power consumption max. 11 W
PL-0981

The effects will be the same as you get with the full Mitras lamps, for example moon phase etc.

Through 4 separately dimmable light colors (neutral white, red, green and blue) you can achieve manifold light scenarious:

moon light
sunset and sunrise
thunderstorm / flashes
Mitras-Simu is normally used a an effect-lamp in addition to the main illumination and is not made to replace the main illumination.
For the operation of an Mitras-Simu-Stick the Mitras-Simu-Driver (see below) is required necessarily.
Dimming and effects are only possible with a propriate controller (e.g. ProfiLux or ManuDimm). Without controller the Mitras-Simu-Stick will be operated with 100% brightness.

anodized aluminum body with cooling fins
the superiour cooling ensures a long life time and a maximum light performance
shiftable mounting brackets
availbale in several lengths
waterproof sealed (IP67)
high-qualitiy LEDs from Samsung (type 5060)
length of cable to Mitras-Simu-Driver 2 m

I'm looking forward to getting one of these on my current tank. I'm actually replacing one of the older GHL Simu-Sticks (I bought it 2nd hand 6 years ago) and I admit I have missed the "effect" these add to a tank. Amazing sun-rise/sun-set and when it comes to lightning GHL has the perfect match of intensity and speed of flashes.

The added colors to the Mitras Simu is just icing on the cake in my books.

Al your addicted! It shows in every post... Thanks, if the don't have the punch needed I can supplement the Mitras. Should they be connected to the Mitras? (on the sides) and do you use 2 sticks for each Mitras?

Honestly I don't think I would use these w/Mitras LX6200HV or LX6100HV. It seems almost redundant but since I haven't seen them in person (yet) I could be wrong about this.

Now if I had something like a LX6000 (no HV for fresh water etc) I might add these to get some extra WOW from the additional light colors but the Reefy Mitras units 6100 & 6200 probably have all those lights areas covered.

Addicted? Never... I could stop reefing.. IF I wanted to LOL! I have a passion for it and the luxury of also able to spend a lot of time online so it seems worse (or better?) than it really is.

I'm planning a larger tank build hopefully later this year (gotta build the house first) and I can assure you it will be a decked-out system.
