I have a few ghost shrimp that im going to be using for feeder shrimp, and im curious how long they will survive in salt water

I THINK if you acclimate them slowly they could thrive in saltwater indefinately....I don't know what their lifespan is but the SW wouldn't likk them...

kill them

You want to make ghosts out of them? ;)

There are two species. Stenopus pyrsonotus is the Hawaiian variety and is strictly marine. Stenopus pyrsonotus is the Florida variety and also moves into fresh water and needs to be acclimated if returned to saltwater. When used for food the acclimation is not needed as they rarely last that long with hungry fish.

There are other similar clear shrimp that are often marketed as ghost shrimp so you may not actually have a true ghost.
