Giesemann owners....post your pics

I am thinking about picking up Giesemann 24" infiniti unit or a Nova II for my up coming Elos 70 project. The units carry quite a hefty price tag but they sure look nice. I would like to see some other pics of it if anyone has any available. I'm getting tired of constantly looking and salivating over the manufacturer pics.

Just ordered a Giesemann bilux for an elos system 70

I'm not familiar with that model. Where did you order it from? What is the length on it?

LFS. It's two mogul based bulbs in a wider single reflector. I had a hard time finding many pictures or info on US sites, but he's running a few in the store. I'll definitely be posting some pics when it comes in. Great looking fixture. I was considering the NovaII, but I think the spread is a little too small for the footprint of the system 70.

Here's a 48" Spectra series fixture in titanium silver-metallic.

Slovan,
Where did you find the spectra? Adding that to an Elos and you have my ears, eyes, and many other parts standing at attention!
I'm an Iowa boy...might have to visit you and your setup!

now in Wisconsin (but barely)

Hi Matt,

You can get the fixture from Phil at Xenia Inc. in Canada. The fixtures come directly from Giessemann in Germany but he is the distributor for North America. He's the best when it comes to customer service. I felt like I owed him something for answering all of my questions. :)

Slovan that's really nice, I'm planning to get the single bulb version for my 70g tank.

Not to take anything away from Xenia but you can also get it from Jeremy at Premium Aquatics.

That is a nice looking unit slovan and even a nicer looking tank! I guess US vendors only carry the Infiniti and Nova units. Any pics of the entire setup??? Please post.

Hey Mike! Thanks, I really like the slick looks of it. I also miss my Sfiligoi but that wasn't big enough for this tank.

You should get one for your cube. It'll only compliment what you already have.

I'll be putting a thread in the Elos forum soon. Hope to see you there as well when you get your up and running. :)

Holly crap that Specta is SWEET!! I've got the Gieseman Eco DE version with 2 T5 actinics. Definatley a nice fixture. If you gotta see it might as well make it a nice piece.

slovan,
sweet pics!!! i've emailed phil already after our pm's. I forgot to ask him about the ballast on the spectra's. I believe they are hqi's too right? I'm excited to see your tank thread.

Hi Simon,

I can double check tomorrow to see what they are. I'll also try it out on a kill-o-watt meter to see what it's using.

I can try to answer based on my discussions with Jeremy - the ballasts are Giesemann units which will be like HQI here. They are 220v but come with a built in converter.

wierd......I thought they was HQI only

Infinity is. The Spectra is the SE equivalent.

The Giesemann ballast's are suppose to be something inbetween what we call HQI and magnetic... You can also order the fixture with no ballast.

Salty Critter is ordering these in from Phil now also. I ordered a black 48" Spectra a month or so ago and got the tracking # yesterday. Should be here in 2 days! :)

fisheebill.....that is the exact fixture that I am planning on picking up. Where did you get yours from?
