gig disc support

I've actually dealt with alleopathy in my old 55 gallon reef. I had every type of nem in there and at one point hell broke out and my water was fouled up with an invisible slime that would clog my socks within hours, seriously hours. Although this is a possibility, my anemones seem to be doing great and eating well every week. 100 gallons should be fine for what I have for the time being. Once they start to outgrow the tank I'll consider a larger tank. I think this may be flow related but there is only one way to find out which is moving the anemone away from the pumps undertow. I'll let you know how it goes. I could always sell 1 mp40 and grab a gyre 150 and see how it goes. I really dislike cords in my tank and have a battery backup for my vortechs, although I'm aware Maxspect released a battery backup for the Gyre.

- just throwing around ideas.

Would be great if you solve the problem using current equipment without purchasing anything else.

Couldn't help to think there may be more going on then flow, especially after seeing recent video of Minh's gigantea getting wiped around in his system.

Sometimes this hobby can be frustrating. I hope it all works out for you and your animals.

Yep ya never know until you break down the issues and check off things you've done to resolve the problem. He seems very happy and eats and opens up fine but the foot twisting just occurred recently so I'm going to move him and see how he responds.

Well it went as bad as it could go yesterday. He was attached to 2 different rocks, which is why I think he was twisted so bad. One was a small rock and the other a large rock. Trying to move both rocks at the same time without harming him was difficult but it had to be done to untwist him. I placed him near the sandbed further away from the pumps with some rocks around him but he was still attached to 2 separate rocks making it impossible for me to place the disc foundation the way I wanted to. To get to the point, the move stressed him out to the point where he actually deflated for the first time ever last night. I'm hoping he bounces back but if not I'm going to have to remove him and treat I guess. Not sure what I'm treating for since it was stress induced and not bacterial. So exhausting, I just wanted him to be comfortable and happy but no I had to go ahead and stress him out to the point of deflation. I feel like a 13 year old boy who just got dumped for the first time.

Unless you damaged the foot, I am almost certain that it will recover - my gig deflated all the time initially, and always came back without issue...

Well he rebounded but his positioning isn't great and he is on the move towards my vortechs again. I also moved the large rock I recently added since it took up to much room and affected flow. I just think that is where he prefers to be and I'm not going to move him or mess with him anymore. I'm just going to allow him to walk where he wants to be. I prefer my gigs to lay on a rock base rather than stretch but if that makes him happy than I'm ok with it. Some pics....
