Awesome video. Mr. Saltwatertank did a complete walkthrough video of Steinhart but this close up video of gigs is great. That's my next public aquarium on the list. So far I have been to Waikiki Aquarium, Aquarium of the Pacific, Monterey Bay and Shedd.

I saw the Gigatea at Waikiki too. I did not thing that flow there was optimal. I guess healthy Gigantea can really take different flow amount. The one at Waikiki have been there for a long time.

There is another blue S. gigantea in a smaller exhibit at Steinhart that has very low flow. Been there for 3 years or so and grew from muffin size to about 18" across. So the high flow is not a necessity nor should it be blasting like that all the time.

That's plenty of flow though.

I have several Gigantea over the last several years. IME, the level of flow above (in my video) is optimal for Gigantea. They can take lower flow, but will not do as well.

I went with another MP40 to add on to the existing MP40 I had an wowsers do I love it and do my gigs love it. I can actually see my purple opening up more now. Gyre is a decent pump though also and actually moves more water but I prefer Ecotech personally.

On my 120 that houses two gigs, I have two MP40s and recently added a Gyre. After installing the Gyre I turned off the MP40s. I like the flow better as it is a wider, more gentle flow while still being strong. I only worry about long time reliability, so my plan is to keep the MP40s. I hear that many people run both, and I may do the same.

On my other tanks with smaller gigs (under 6"), I run WP10s and WP25s on wavemaking mode. They seem to like it as well. I'm guessing that smaller gigs have different flow requirements than the larger ones. I can't imagine putting my small gigs in the 120, as I think they'd get whipped around.

Here is "green machine" eating two up my 2 mp40's. I was thinking of trying a Gyre again too. I may grab a 150 and see if I like it better than my setup now. I agree with Minh let us see your nems.
