I plan to do the aqua scaping of my 100 gallon tank this weekend and wonder where the ideal place for a gig would be.
The tank is 24 tall with a footprint of 40 x 28.
The light would be up to 4 Kessil A360 (all E -series), possibly augmented with a MarsAqua light for at least a few hours (my last purple gig seems to love that light).
Straight over the gig I will place at least 1 N-model, maybe 2.
The gig in question is currently straight under an A360N, which is 14 inch above it with only 5 to 6 inch water above it.
I also noted that it doesn't like when the flow is too extreme.
Initially I planned to place the gig on the bottom of the tank but I'm a bit concerned It may not get enough light there (or later be shadowed by corals)
The alternative would be to create a place for it higher on the rocks.
Which would be the better choice?
