gigs and mags compatible

I have a 30x30x24 tank with 3 gigs (1 only large 10") and was wondering if mags and gigs can be housed in the same system since they need the same requirement, high flow & high light.

i have a mag in with a gig and a hadoni. all were in my 93 cube for over a year and moved them into a 200 now and also just added a mertinsi. i think if you find healthy ones to start out you will be fine. i never ran carbon until just now since adding the mertins.

I got 3 Gigantea 2 Magnfica and one Haddoni together in my 320. Also another Haddoni and Gigantea in my frag tank, all share same sump. All are doing well.

I have a small mag in a tank with a small gigantea. Both do fine, but the mag sometimes deflates a bit. I don't know if it's because its still regaining its zoox or if it's not happy being in the same tank as the gig. If it is allelopathy, then I'd be somewhat surprised because the mag hasn't moved. I'd expect it to be constantly on the move if the gig was irritating it.

Red foot yellow tip :(
Why do red foot Mags tend to be so coveted by hobbyists? Based on what I have seen locally and online it's probably just marketing. In my area they sell for $40. Thus I don't think "collection" and transportation have anything to do with it. I could buy one today if I wanted to for that price but on DD they sell for $199 within minutes.

speaking on the red foot. i told my wife i would like to add a red foot one sometime to our collection and she asked why, you dont really see the foot? sometimes i know you do, but id rather have a nicely colored anemone and pass on the nicely colored foot if i had to make a choice.

Mags are probably the only hosting species you regularly can view their foot. That is why hobbyist covet the brightly colored column individuals. I always enjoyed watching my mags ball up with just a few tentacles popping out of the top when you really get to see their pretty columns in full display.

Red base mags are just harder to come by than the usual purple or brown ones. I don't think they are necessarily more beautiful than the purple ones just harder to find. Which of course drives up the price, just like everything else in this hobby.
