Gimmito's 450 L-Shaped Display

Here's a pic of 2 of the 1 1/2" drain pipes. I'm toying around w/the idea of feeding one of the drains directly into the skimmer. Any thoughts ?

I'm also using uniseals to cover any holes I make, but also to help dampen sound.

Pic of othertwo 1 1/2" drains. I'm seriously debating whether to hard plumb the rest to the sump or use spa flex...we'll see. :hmm2:

The sump originally had two 1" holes for the bulkheads. As you can see I had to blow four 1 1/2" holes in there (I went through 3 fully charged batterys to do it !).

A pic of my dirty tank (sheetrock dust gets every where and I didn't feel like climbing in there to clean it). I got a chance to make a pvc frame for the rock scaping. As soon as I get my light rack from Gen I can start installing the lights and going to town w/the rock !

Any ideas on putting the light racks on a actuator or pulley system ?

Great update Jim! all the plumbing looks really clean.

One suggestion, in the picture below, I see you placed metal braces to the tubing that goes into the skimmer, I would encourage you to change this to plastic braces as they will rust, I know that hardware stores say they are stainless steel but believe me, I had them in my tank for the chiller connection and they do rust.

I'm running a Eheim 1262 for the return pump. From there I tee'd off to feed the H&S A150 skimmer and then it goes to another tee to feed the two 1" Sea Swirls.

Keep updating us and Happy Thanksgiving

Thanks for the tip Juan. I have some plastic clamps laying around here somewhere....I just wanted to finish it so I could do a water test.

I think it's time brake out the Flip. ;)

Have a great Thanksgiving also,

Jim

I just picked up a Maristar 4 foot 2x250 w/halide/t5 combo from H20player. I just need a hanging kit and I'm good to go. :D

I made a Tap Plastics run and picked up some acrylic cleaner and cloth. I was looking at the Novus to buff out some scratches on the frag tank, but it was pretty expensive. :O I also picked up a 7/16' acrylic drill bit to drill holes for the frag plugs.

Everything looks pretty good man. Sad day on having to fix those scratches though. Definitely worth it in the end. Also, happy xmas eve! (enough of the happy holidays nonsense, the whole PC thing doesn't really fly with me).

Thanks...yeah that's what I get for not covering up the FT. I hope to finish drilling the frag racks next week and get that tank running. :D

Merry Christmas to you and yours also.

I got a chance to polish the lids and frag rack at Gen's. Who would have thought using a blow torch could be so fun ?

I had Gen tier the frag racks for light loving corals. I also drilled out 816 holes for the frag plugs...boy am I tired.

I hung the Maristar fixture & hooked up the lumatek ballasts. I need to change out the bulbs soon...I like the ushio 14k's and will probably go with aqua blue special and fiji purple for the T5's.
