Hey everyone,

i promised i'd post pics, so here they are. I'll post more as i finish setting it up.

Obviously, im not even close to being done, but i hope to finish it before the 4th.

As some of you may already know, this entire setup was a DIY project of Wardaddy. Including the tank, stand, canopy, plumbing, ect ect. Big kudos to him as there was very little i had to buy/adjust to get this project going, but now it's MY PRECIOUS :)

I'm adding all new sand and the majority of my LR will be new (techincally dry rock right now :P). I'm using ESV salt and i plan on switching my current 29 biocube sump over to the 50gal cube tomorrow.

bookself is going to go where the biocube is at currently. Don't mind the mess :)

The canopy slouches at an angle because of the mounting plate, which is bolted to studs, that the canopy is hanging on, but it's nothing a jug cap cant fix!!!

Fans need to be cleaned but the back overflow box is dark tinted glass and so is the back pane. All the PVC was painted black as well.

Plumbing: Lots of unions  Also it'll be my first time using an ocean's motion thingy

This is probably my favorite part of the setup. I absolutely love the three doors. it makes it so much easier to work inside the stand. And there are hooks, velcro straps, and a DC8 which gives me individual switches for just about everything and no more wires dangling everywhere :)

You bought that from Amanda? Cool gimp! Have fun this weekend setting it up, I'll be drinking beer watching you work.

Yes, It was going to be my dream cube, but I barely have time for the 220g, so I never set it up. I'm glad to see it go to a good home. :)

I'm glad you got the stand home without putting it on the roof of the car as you considered at the time.

So the oceans motion came with the setup?if so that alone makes the deal you got worth it.they are cool devices Nelson, just make sure you take it apart about every 2-3 months and clean out the housing and inner drum.otherwise they are prone to sticking and not rotating.cool setup and lookIng forward to seeing your progress.

Yup, came back with a truck, but the truck got a flat tire on the way back in the rain. It's here and thats all that matters now :)

Noted! I will make sure i clean the oceans motion before i start adding water ect ect. Thanks for the tip chris :)

are those ocean motion things worth it? I am trying to finish up my 180 and trying to figure out if I should do something like that or sea swirls to change things up in the tank...I will have 2 mp40s so might be good enough....

So far im pretty happy with the oceans motion. It's extremely quite and doesnt cut down the flow like those squids. how much do they cost just out of curiousity?

Some new pics :) 29 biocube was sold last sunday and everything is in the new tank.

The tank has only been up for two weeks so im deathly afraid of losing everything to a cycling tank so i threw all my liverock in my sump.

One of the main reasons i got a new tank was because the old one had bryopsis. It wasnt as bad as it could of been, but little things like that drive me nuts in this hobby.

I really hope the bryopsis doesnt make it's way into my display. I plan on taking it all out and bleaching it when my tank is finished cycling.

If you have any tips on making sure it doesnt get into my display, please share :)

ive already inspected all my corals and had to do a little trimming to get rid of any bryopsis that has been. Nate (big nate? the one with the new 150gal) wasn't joking when he warned me about the stuff a couple months ago

I also plan on changing out the T5s. Currently there are plant bulbs and im sure thats not helping my chances of ridding the bryopsis >_<
