GIRS Board of Directors Election time.

It is that time of year again where The Greater Iowa Reef Society needs to elect a new Board of Directors.

Please post to this thread if you would like to be on the Board or if you would like to nominate someone. If you are nominated you will either need to accept the nomination or decline it. The positions available are:

President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer

Lets try to keep this thread specific to nominations so it does not get off track. If you have questions please post them in the GIRS elections questions thread. I will keep this thread going until November 30th. After that we will vote on the positions.

Thanks for a great year and we are looking to improve even more next year!

Thanks Jason, but with my busy schedule I cannot commit the time needed to be Treasurer next year. I will still be at all the meetings and do whatever I can to help out the club as a member though.

This group has my nomination also. I would also like to nominate Marcus to Secretary.

As for the time requirement I would love to help you get this group in a position to allow it to have little affect on your personal time. I don't want to see you step down. If it is a decision you have to make for personal reasons, then I understand and thank you for all you have done to hold this group together Bob.

I appreciate your nomination, but due to personal time committments I will have to decline the nomination.

I am expecting my second child, graduating from Palmer, and starting my own Chiropractic office next year.

Thanks for the nomination Matt, i would like to do more to help the club out this coming year for sure.
i think this club is really cool, i think its major downfall is that we are all pretty spread out, which makes it difficault to plan and coordinate events.

But like i said i am excited about the chance to be more active in this club.

I'm going to sit this next year out as well. I have a third child coming in December and increasing responsibility at work. I'll also admit I haven't contributed to the group as much as I should have.

Allen has my support for Pres.

I appreciate all the nominations for President, I will accept the nomination.

While it would be nice to have Bob, Travis and Marcus in this again, I also respect their decisions. I am sure they will all be there to help out when and wherever needed.

I'll second the nomination for Jeremy(Waverz) for Secretary, while the donuts and coffee would be nice , hopefully the "mini skirt" will not be a part of it

I will also add another nomination for Jason for V.P.

Well, looks like we still need at least one person for Treasurer, anyone?

Thanks for the offer Matt but I'll stick with VP for now.....Allen has held the position and I think he would head it off much better. I think I'd like to get a few years of experience in before I try and grab the big chair. On a side not I think that you would make a great trustee for the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area and I third or forth Jeremy for Secretary.....Maybe if we buy enough stuff from Bob he might stick around as the Treasurer?????? It would be money well spent Bob's done a great job and will be missed greatly on the BOD

It looks like this is what we have so far:

Secretary - Jeremy...Wavers
Treasurer - Brad...dascharisma

Please correct me if I am wrong, but it looks to me that all of these people have been nominated and have accepted.

If there is anyone out there that wants to run for these positions please post here and we will vote next week.

We will also be looking for Trustees in all four areas. I will start a seperate thread on that after we have the Board of Directors settled.
